If the world was ending
Would you cry or would you try to get me?
Tell me now, I want you to be clear, yeah
Tell me now, I need you to be clear, yeah

"What?" She asked, her voice cracking. "You don't know who I am." She asked sadly as I could see the rims of her eyes begin to water, making me feel bad. I shook my head no now seeing the tears begin to fall, making me reach out and pull her onto my chest.

"I'm just playing baby." I chuckled lightly feeling her sit up and mug me.

"You asshole!" She cried, making me laugh harder. I had to break the sad-ass tension in here with a joke. I didn't mean to make her cry. "I've been worrying myself to death and the first thing you decide to do is play." She glared before pushing me in my chest.

"Ow!" I groaned feeling a sharp pain shoot through my chest at her actions.

"I'm sorry baby!" She panicked, bringing her hand to gently rub the place she had just pushed. I couldn't help but smile at her as my eyes trailed her beautiful features. I had missed her so much. I don't even know how long I had been out but for her face to be the first thing I got to see when I opened my eyes had me feeling like the luckiest man in the world. Taking hold of her hand that was rubbing my chest I brought it to my lips kissing her palm before laying a gentle kiss on each of her fingers. The soft giggle that escaped her mouth was like music to my ears.

"I missed you so much, baby." She breathed before letting out a strangled sob.

"Come here, mama." I whispered softly, pulling her to me as she rested her face in my neck. I used the arm that wasn't placed in a sling to wrap around her using my hand to gently rub her back. I could feel her reach her hand up to begin playing with my ear causing me to let out a contented sigh as my head fell back against the pillow. A comfortable silence took over us as I felt my whole body relax. I felt so at peace lying here with her in my arms. I could feel our heartbeats sync up as they were now thumping to the same beat.

"I have to call your mom! And Kasim." She shot up quickly, making me grimace in a bit of pain from the sudden movement as she spoke frantically, making me reach out to grab her hand to calm her down.

"Relax butterfly." I spoke calmly, causing her nerves to visibly settle a bit as she placed her eyes on me. I couldn't help but smile at how innocent she looked at that moment. Her eyes were slightly puffy from crying and her hair was wild on top of her head since her bun had come apart. "Before you start calling people can I just sit here with you a while?" I asked, pulling her gently to me seeing a small smile peel across her pretty face. "That okay with you?" I asked again, receiving a shy smile and a head nod from her as I guided her to come lay back beside me in the bed.

I couldn't help but let my eyes trail her features once again as I took them in like it was my first time doing so. I was so happy to be back in her presence. My heart felt whole again and even though I was in a bit of pain she was the best medicine I could ever ask for.
