Why you let me do you like that?
Hanging on every word I said
Something I do not understand
You should leave the past in the past

Once getting off the phone with Mari I tried to call Chris but his phone was going straight to voicemail. After a few failed attempts at reaching him, I just decided to try again another day. I can't help the small tinge of disappointment in him potentially ignoring my calls. I hope he wasn't upset with me. I wasn't good at facing confrontation so I tended to ignore it until things blew up. That's why me and Dom were in the mess we are in now.

Throwing on a simple fit that consisted of an oversized graphic tee and some biker shorts, I called an Uber and made my way to one of my favorite Chinese spots in the city. I discovered this place in college. It always stayed open super late at night, so on the nights I had to stay up writing a paper or studying for a test I would come here to grab food. Chinese or any type of hibachi was my comfort food. Anytime I was sad this is what I ate. I could eat this damn near every day and never get tired of it. Anybody who knew me knew I was a Chinese food stan.

Walking into the place the aroma of the food being cooked on the flat top instantly made my mouth water. After ordering the chicken and shrimp special with lo mein and two shrimp egg rolls I went over to the grill to watch them cook my food. As soon as I got over there I was greeted by a familiar face.

"Let me find out you stalking me," I said making Dro turn around with a frown on his face before playfully smacking his lips once he saw it was me who was speaking to him.

"If anything, you stalking me. I'm the one who put you on to this place. I took custody in the breakup." He joked, making me shove him lightly in the arm.

"Negro you wish I gave you this spot!" I said while jumping at him which made him laugh. "I'm surprised you're even on this side of town. This is out of your way." I admit wondering what had him downtown when he lived in Fayetteville.

"I'm staying at a hotel downtown for homecoming weekend. Me and my frat have a party every homecoming and rent out the ballroom in the Westin." He admits making me poke my lip out to show that I was impressed.

"Okay, big spender. I see you." I joke, making him chuckle. I had forgotten about homecoming that fast after the week I had. It was Thursday evening so most of the big alumni events wouldn't start until tomorrow.

"You still not going to any of the events?" He asked as they called his ticket number making him step up to grab his food.

"I honestly forgot it was this weekend. I didn't buy any tickets for anything so I couldn't go if I wanted to." I pout as he comes to stand next to me. I was kind of in my feelings about not going because I hadn't been to a homecoming since I graduated.
