If the storm comes, if we burn up
If the wells run dry
You're my reason, to believe in
Another lifeA blood curdling scream left Raelle's lips as she watched Candice fire several shots into Dominic's body that were meant for her. Everything happened so fast that it barely registered to her that he had pushed her out of the way to stand behind him as soon as Candice pointed her gun in Raelle's direction. It's something that he didn't even have to think twice about. Once he saw Candice aim her gun in Raelle's direction it was like second nature for him to put himself in the crossfire to protect her.
Raelle felt every breath that she could ever take leave her body as she stared down at his body that was now placed away at her feet. His breathing was labored as he stared up at her with glossy eyes. His body felt like it was on fire from the bullets that riddled his being. He couldn't tell how many times he had been hit, but what he did know was that every bullet had connected with some part of his body. The place he was feeling the most pain was his abdomen.
"Fuck!" Candice yelled as she hastily dropped the gun in her hands and ran out of the room. She had meant to shoot Raelle, but of course Dominic had to jump in front of her and ruin that plan. She was livid at the fact that Raelle was still alive and Dominic most likely would die from the amount of shots she had let off into his body. Contrary to her behavior she did love Dominic. He was the only man that she had been with that actually treated her with any type of respect. He took care of her financially when they were messing around with each other and he never disrespected her until that bitch Raelle came around. Yes, he would let her know that they weren't a couple but his actions showed otherwise. What man would be paying the bills of a woman he didn't care for?
This alone had Candice stuck in a delusion that she loved Dominic and he loved her. In her mind everything was perfect until Raelle came along. Things didn't start to change until he met her. She didn't know where she was about to go but she had to get away from here. There was no way anyone in that room was letting her live after what she had just done. She literally had nowhere to go with Tip now being dead. Thankfully she had stolen quite a bit of money from him over time along with whatever he was giving her to stay afloat the last few months. She would use that to go into hiding for now, but that would only last for so long.
While Candice escaped, Lauren sat solemnly next to Tip's dead body trying to figure out what her next move would be. She couldn't bring herself to care that Dominic was laying on the ground fighting for his life while her ex best friend was screaming at the top of her lungs for someone to help him. Even though irrational, she blamed both of them for the death of someone she thought was the love of her life. When she burst into the room she really thought that she would be able to bargain for Tip's life and Dominic would let them leave, but she was sadly mistaken.
Everything happened so fast, that she was still trying to wrap her mind around it. She was now a single mother. Forced to raise this child on her own, and having to face the hard truth that one day she would have to tell her baby about what she and their dad had done to cause them to never know their father. The thought made her sick as she continued to hold Tip's dead body in her hands.
