The Mikaelsons sister

𝐈'𝐦 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐚

Aurora was comforting Bonnie after Elena left for a while with Caroline, just trying to distract her until her mom woke up.

"Aurora someone's car pulled up" Caroline informs the other blonde girl. Aurora glanced outside the window and saw Elijah.

"It's my brother i'll be right back." Aurora runs to the door and goes outside. Elijah stood there with tears in his eyes.

"Elijah? What happened?" Aurora was concerned for her brother after hearing what Esther said to him earlier that night.

"Nothing Aurora, i just wanted to tell you that i'm leaving town, Kol has already fled."

"What? Why?"

"Mother was correct, all the talk about my virtue but when i wan to i kill and torment, even today, i terrorised an innocent" Once Elijah said that Aurora's expression softened. 

"Elijah, Elena is hardly innocent. You did what you had to do to protect our family."

"But I didn't, Aurora. You saved us today without harming anyone." He looked away, clearly ashamed.

"They would've done the same to protect their family. You're not a monster."

"Aren't I? Our mother turned us into vampires, but she didn't make us monsters. I did that to myself." Aurora felt the weight of his words; he was right.

She stepped forward and wrapped her arms around him, and he returned the embrace tightly.

"Goodbye, Elijah."

"Goodbye, sister." He pulled away and melted into the night. Wiping away a tear, Aurora returned to the Bennett residence, her heart heavy.

After spending much of the day helping Bonnie's mom with control, Aurora decided to go to the Grill. She spotted her twin sister talking to the Salvatore's. Despite her resentment toward them, she couldn't ignore Rebekah's presence. Aurora approached the group.

"Bex," she called, and Rebekah's face lit up.

"Dawn!"

"What are you discussing with these backstabbers?" Rebekah opened her mouth to respond, but Damon interjected.

"Aurora, we're sorry. We weren't going to let you die we just hadn't figured out a plan yet." Damon's attempt at defence fell flat.

"Right, so that's why I overheard you telling Elijah that you'd let me die to take down Klaus and then hope to find something to bring me back?" Guilt washed over both Damon and Stefan, clearly caught off guard.

"We only said that because Elijah was questioning us. We weren't actually going to do it," Stefan added, trying to back his brother up. Aurora scoffed.

"Well, this has been a delightful chat, but it's boys' night, and Rebekah, you weren't invited." Damon announced, turning to leave. Aurora rolled her eyes at him, but he paused, looking back at her.

"I really am sorry, Aurora."
