Interior- Woojin's house - night
Woojin’s dad pacing back and forth in the living room, phone in hand, voice booming with frustration.
**Dad**: *“How dare he call me by my name without a ‘Mister’ in front of it? Does he not know, ‘Give honor to whom honor is due’? (Romans 13:7) This is the problem with people today, no respect for elders!”*
He pauses, listening to the other side of the call, but his expression is still stormy, eyes darting toward the door as he continues.
**Dad**: *“Yes, disrespect is a sin! I’ll pray for him, but he needs to repent for his informality!”*
Just then, the front door creaks open. In walk Woojin and Sungyeol, both drenched from head to toe, their clothes soaked, leaving a trail of water on the floor. Woojin’s mom, who’s been pacing nervously, rushes toward them.
**Mom**: (alarmed) *“Woojin! You left without saying a word! I’ve been calling you, but your phone wasn’t reachable!”* (She turns to Sungyeol) *“Sungyeol, it’s good to see you, but—why are you both drenched in water?”*
**Sungyeol**: (nonchalantly, like it’s no big deal) *“Oh, Woojin was drowning in the river, so I had to rescue him.”*
The room freezes for a second. Mom’s eyes go wide as she gasps, clutching her chest in disbelief.
**Mom**: (horrified) *“In the river? Woojin, why would you jump into the river? You can’t even swim! Oh my God, did you… did you try to hurt yourself on purpose? What happened, my child?”*
**Woojin**: (wide-eyed, hands flailing) *“No, no, Mom! It was an accident!”*
**Sungyeol**: (grinning, adding fuel to the fire) *“Auntie, your future daughter-in-law is an amazing driver. Nearly killed us tonight.”*
Mom’s expression shifts from panic to confusion. She blinks at Sungyeol, then looks at Woojin, clearly trying to piece together the story.
**Mom**: *“You mean Minji? Did Minji hit you with her car?”*
**Woojin**: (frantic, waving his hands) *“No, no! We were in the car that Minji was driving. We were coming back from the hospital—”*
**Mom**: (panicking again) *“The hospital?! Woojin, are you hurt? Oh my goodness!”*
**Woojin**: *“No, no! It was a misunderstanding! I took Minji to the hospital, but everything’s fine now. We dropped her home safely, okay? I’m okay!”*
Mom blinks rapidly, utterly baffled.
**Mom**: *“I’m really confused by everything you boys are saying... but go to your room and change before you catch a cold.”*
Woojin nods and nudges Sungyeol toward the stairs. As they begin to climb, Woojin’s dad, still on the phone, starts raising his voice, clearly directing his anger at Sungyeol without missing a beat.
