"Mom, is this really necessary?" I ask as she pins a bobby pin inside my loose blond hair.

"Of course Julie, you have to look really presentable for this dinner," she twirls me around in my seat as she smiles brightly. "But he’s just a guy," I mumbled and she gives me the look.

"Darling, I know you would rather be outside, but the Prince of Evergreen is dying to met you and your father is friends with the King. So behave and don't do anything like you did the last time." I snort, remembering the time I convinced the last Prince....what was his name again?.......oh, that's right Walter. That I had a disease and it was contagious. Also, that if he got near me, he would die in like, 4 minutes. I can still remember him screaming down the stairs yelling, "GET ME MY RIDE! I'M OUT OF HERE!"

"Julie please act good," my mother shot me a look. "Yes mother." I sigh, getting up from my seat as my mother pulls me in for a hug, "You’re so beautiful."

"I've been told so many times," she let's go, patting my cheeks. "And don't ever forget it," she smiled as she leaves out the door.

Ah, my mother. She can be so persuasive and so stubborn too, but she’s so damn pretty. Pretty is so not the word for it..... she’s gorgeous. I can't believe how dad even got a hold of her. He tells me it’s because of his witty remarks, but my mother said because of his stupidity. I just wished I inherited my mothers bright golden eyes. Instead I get a mixture of gold and honey brown. Which is fine with me, but I wonder how I would I look like with golden eyes just like my mother.

I sigh as I slip on my white strapless dress with a bodice and a wide pleated sash at the empire waist included with gold sandals. I checked myself for the last time in the mirror, inspecting any smudged makeup. Which looked good. I applied on some chap stick. Puckering up my lips, I made my way down the stairs.

"Ah, here she is now." My father called out. I locked gazes with my mother, she seemed a little tense, but she quickly composed herself. I was nodding my head toward my father, who was dressed in formal pants and a button down shirt. His brown hair with a few streaks of gray hair was kept neat, but one strand of hair was in the way. He had his arm around my mother’s waist, smiling he locked gazes with me.

"Julie, this is Issac." I moved to stand beside my father. Standing beside Issac was his father. Issac looked just like his father, only for the exception of the old thing going on with his father. By the count of it, Issac father must have looked like Issac when he was young because of the close similarities going on. Issac seemed a little shy because his father gave him a little push toward the center were my father, mother, and I stood.

"Nice to meet you, and like my father said I'm Julie." I announced. "Nice to meet you too, my name is Issac," his voice was deep and so mysterious. He was wearing jeans with a button down shirt and a black blazer over it. His messed up brown hair was cute. His eyes had a blue gray mixture going on.

"Samuel, Daniel, please make your way inside the Dinning Room." My mother said, "Julie, please show Issac around the castle."

I gave her a look, but she simply ignored it while smiling at Issac. She went over toward my father and walked hand in hand with him. I gulped. I could feel the awkwardness inside the room. "So," I said.

"So," he stuffed his hands in his pockets while looking somewhere else except me. "Um, I'm not sure where you want to go, but if you have any suggestions please be free to ask." Great! I just sounded like any other boring teacher. He gave me a boyish grin, "Wherever is fine with me."

I sigh, “Um, I guess I can show you the garden?” he shrugs his shoulders as I wave him over towards me. “So Issac, got any plans happening?” I asked.

“Not really, just the same boring thing, like helping out my father around the Kingdom and all. It’s nothing special.” He got closer to me. Walking side by side, we made it out the doors into the open air. The garden looked just like it used to when my mom was a teenage girl. I opened the French gates as Issac makes his way inside.

“Wow, quite a garden you got here.” He walked over to were the roses laid. I smiled cheerfully as I made my way toward the rows of tulips. “Thanks, this is my father’s garden. He loves it here because it was the time he found out he loved my mother.” I made my way over to the roses that Issac was just looking at a few minutes ago, now he’s over at the bench.

“Ah, love. I remember when I fell in love, but then again I was a foolish boy.”

I couldn't resist it, but I felt my face flushing. What made this boy so enticing? A boy who would make me blush, especially one that was a prince. I specifically told myself that I wasn't going to fall for a Prince. And trust me, I've met stuck up rich boys who would run to my door and beg for me to marry them....and guess what? They've never meet me! My mother says that I have to give them a chance. While, my father says, “Chance? What chance!? They basically had a chance when they came barging through our door asking for a proposal. What more of a chance is that?”

“Ow!” I didn't really get a good grasp on what I was doing because the next thing I know, I'm bleeding from the thorn that pricked my finger. Issac came running towards me, “Oh, let’s see if we can get that thorn out.” He moves his hands to my index finger. I squirm away from his touch, not that its bad, but the pain that I felt when he wiggled the thorn out.

“Here,” he wrapped his arm around my waist which made me blush another second time. Gosh, what is happening to me! He sits me down on the bench while he sits on the other side of me. “I can't!” I let go of his hand, “Let it get infected. I don't mind. I don't mind if I have to chop it off because of the amount of blood that's pouring out of me.” He got a good laugh out of that one.

“Don't worry, you want to know something?”

“Um, sure.” I close my eyes as he starts to grab my hand which I let him, “When I was a kid, I liked playing with dolls.” I laughed out loud which let a little snort come out with it. I blushed and turned away, “Sorry.”

“What are you saying sorry for? I thought it was cute.”

“My mother usually says I shouldn't be snorting. Well, only if it’s just us.”

“Really? Well it’s okay, my father is the same way.”

“Okay, back to the dolls,” a grin stretched across my face. “Ah, my older sister would always play with dolls and well she introduced me to the Barbie. Which, I found out to be pretty fun acting out with my sister. But my father thought not.” he laughed, while I joined him. “So, your sister. Where is she?”

He looked a bit sad as he messed with my index finger, “She's living in England with her husband Troy.”

“I'm guessing your missing her terribly. I miss my brothers too.”

 “You have brothers?”

“Yes, they’re twins. They’re in a boarding school, they’re coming in like four weeks or so. I know it’s nothing like your sister and you, but I miss them.” He let's go of my hand and looks at me closely. “No, it’s essentially the same.” He then gets up leaving me there watching him.

I look down at my hand, “Hey! How did you get it out?” I ask. He waved the thorn in my face,

“It's called distraction. Our parents are calling us. I guess we stayed a little too long in the garden, didn't we?” He pulls me up as we walked back inside the castle.

I felt a weird feeling inside my stomach and I don't like it one bit. Not at all.
