Just Another Beauty- Twisted Fate~Ch.22

(Julia Point of View)

I gaze outside my balcony as I restlessly hear my mother complain if the preparation for tonight's dinner was in progress.

"You don't understand Samuel. I owe her this fancy dinner since the day she saved your life." Mother said from across my room,

"I know." Father sighed, "-but you knew I had this day specifically for the arrival of King Daniel. You know he's my closet friend and I haven't seen him since the war his kingdom had with the gorgons."

I could mentally picture my mother scowling my father, "Samuel, I all ready sent news to King Daniel about the situation. You can have some other day with him besides what was I suppose to say? No? She called unnounced.Now, please behave and were is Julia?"

That was my cue. I stood up from my bed, straightened out my dress, and stepped out of my room, "You called." I said from behind my mother as she jumped startled by my sudden surprise.

"Julia!" she smiled and smoothed out my hair, "Please behave. The Swamp Fairy is bringing her cousin. I'd like you to treat them with utter respect."

"If you don't mind me interrupting, but The Swamp Fairy and her cousin have arrived my Queen." Alfred announced as he waited for orders.

"Very well. Now, Samuel and Julia-"

"We know behave and treat with utter respect." father and I said in a bad British accent, chuckling as my mother smiled and walked down the stairs to the floor way.

I had a strong feeling that who ever this Swamp Fairy lady was that her cousin was going to be spoiled as a brat. I've meet my parents friends and their daughters were so spoiled that they wouldn't dare sit, eat, or sleep unless someone else had checked to see if it was okay to do so.

"Come on kiddo. She did save my life." he poked my nose and walked down stairs.

Show time. I follow behind as I see a green looking slob floating in the air. Must have been the Swamp Fairy and beside her was a gentlemen. He seemed to be older then me as he politely took my mother's hand and kissed it gently.

"Thank you for inviting me to your lovely Kingdom." he rose up from bowing at my father. It seemed all fake as he stood beside his cousin. Like he was hiding something mysterious behind his back.

"Ah, this must be the beautiful Princess Julia." There was no mistake where that voice came from as The Swamp Fairy flew towards me and eyed me, "Beautiful in deed."

Was it just me or did I feel like there was a bit more meaning toward those words then intended.

"You must be The Swamp Fairy. I've heard that you saved my father and I would like to give you my thanks." I said,

"Well shouldn't I be the one saying thanks?" she laughed, but a laugh that seemed unreal.

"Julia, why don't you show Duke to the bathroom. Please follow me." Mother left with the Swamp Fairy as she took one final look at me and said, "Such a beautiful creature indeed."

Once the two of us were alone I could feel the tension in the room increase as we stood far apart from each other,  "Well the bathroom is upstairs. You don't really need my help." I say, smiling. He was handsome. I had just really hoped he would be a Swamp Fairy like his cousin. 

He stood there awkwardly as he watched  me with wide eyes, "Your alive." he whispered. As if I wasn't here to hear it.

"Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be?" I asked, confused as he shook his head and kept repeating sorry.
