Just Another Beauty-The Apple~Ch.24

Duke Point of View:

It wasn't long before Lucinda started to yell about that she had to do everything herself. I braced myself for the worse and tried my best to look calm as she pointed her sharped fingernail towards me.

"I expected more of you Duke." seeing the white glow between her fingers, "Now, you better think of a way before I kill you then your brothers."

My mind was completely blank as sweat dripped from my hair, "I don't know." I said, tired of this stupid game that she was playing. I didn't want to risk my brothers life, but I also didn't want to doom the kingdom with Lucinda ruling.

"You have a few seconds before I kill you, so you better think fast."

I thought fast as I remembered her making Julia go to sleep, "Why can't you make her go to sleep like you did before."

Her eyes brightened by my sudden response, "Good. Very good. Now I need an apple and I'll kill her surly." she responded with a evil smirk,

"No." I stopped her from going to far with this plan, "Why don't you make her go to sleep and my brothers and I will keep her hidden far from here as possible."

She hesitated a bit before answering, "I don't know. I want her dead not for her to roam the world."

"Please. Trust me."

She didn't like it, but she agreed to it, "Okay, so we rehearsed what where going to do tomorrow?"

"Yes, I hand her the apple and I take her away while you take over the kingdom."

"Yes, and to reward you with this plan I will return your brothers back home and you will take Julia back there. If you betray me and take Julia somewhere else then I will kill your brothers one by one."

I shook my head understanding as I rested for the big day.

 "You seem different." Julia said while handing me a book from her book shelves.

"What do you mean?" I asked calmly, "How have I changed?"

She shrugged her shoulders, "I don't know, but I can some what feel it." I tried to not smile, but she caught me, "Don't laugh. Don't you feel something that you believe is there, but really theirs not."

"No clue since I'm not insane." I laughed,

She huffed, "Whatever. So, why did you come to visit. I thought you were coming next week."

"Well, I thought to myself, why don't I visit Julia and see if shes okay."

"Julia said yes." she smiled and landed on her feet as she took the books from my hand.

"You ready for lunch?" I asked, as she blew the dust out of the books.

"Yes, I'm starving. Just let me write something down."

"I'll meet you there later. If you get a bit hungry then here." I take out the red apple from my pocket and handed it to her,

"I'm a little scared to ask how long you kept that apple in your pocket." She said while laughing, "Thanks."

I walked off silently out of her room waiting for the right moment until I heard the thud. I had found her past out on her bed with her book laying on the floor. I took Julia and used a spell that Lucinda had asked me to say so I could magically whisk us away far from here.
