They reached the ancient altar, surrounded by whispering leaves.

"Close your eyes," rashid guided. "Focus on your heartbeat."

"Please, let me have a gift," Ameena whispered.

Minutes passed.

Silence.

Ameena's eyes snapped open, disappointment etched on her face. "Maybe I didn't concentrate hard enough," she thought.

She tried again, pouring all her energy into the moment. Still, nothing.

Ameena's parents, Rashid and Sara, exchanged worried glances. "Ameena, sweetie, it's okay," Rashid said gently.

Ameena's eyes welled up. "Why didn't I get a gift?"

she asked, her voice trembling. Sara hugged her tightly. "You're special, Ameena, with or without powers."

Rashid placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Your strength comes from within. We're always proud of you."

"Mom, Dad, am I not good enough?" Ameena asked.

Sara's expression softened. "You're more than enough, Ameena.

Your heart, kindness, and intelligence make you extraordinary.

" Rashid nodded. "We love you for who you are, not for any gift.

Ameena sat alone in her room, staring at her reflection in the mirror

Ameena sat alone in her room, staring at her reflection in the mirror. Tears welled up as she thought about her 16th birthday. "Why didn't I get a gift?" she whispered.

She felt like a failure. Ameena's gaze dropped to her hands, clenched into fists.

"I'm not special like Zara and Nur." Her voice cracked.

"What if they don't need me anymore?" Ameena's eyes wandered to photos of her and her friends.

Memories flooded her mind, Laughing together, Sharing secrets, Supporting each other, But now.

Ameena felt like an outsider. "Maybe I'm not meant to be like them." Ameena's tears spilled over.

She wiped them away, determination sparking. "I'll prove myself. I'll show them I'm worthy."

Ameena stood, squaring her shoulders. She began to pace, thinking. "What can I do? What are my strengths?"

Ameena's resolve solidified. "I'll make my parents proud. I'll find my own way".

Ameena walked through the school gates, nervous butterflies in her stomach

Ameena walked through the school gates, nervous butterflies in her stomach.

Zara and Nur, already waiting, rushed to her side. "Hey, Ameena! What was your gift?" Zara asked, excitement radiating.

Nur chimed in, "Did you get something amazing?"

Ameena's smile faltered.
"Guys, I...didn't get anything," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Zara's face fell. "WHAT? That's impossible!" Nur's eyes widened.

"But...we get gifts on our 16th birthday." Ameena shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant. "I guess I'm the exception."

Zara and Nur exchanged concerned glances. "Ameena, it's okay," Zara said gently. "We're still the same friends."

Nur nodded. "We don't care about gifts."

Ameena forced a smile. "Thanks, guys. Means a lot." But the hurt lingered.

Nur broke the silence, her voice filled with empathy. "Hey, it's okay. You don't need a gift to be special, Ameena. You're amazing just the way you are."

Zara nodded in agreement. "We've got your back, no matter what. My super hearing ability and Nur's sword-fighting skills are at your service."

Nur smiled, her hand on the hilt of her sword. "Whenever you need help, just call. We're a team."

Ameena's eyes welled up with gratitude. Her friends' unwavering support was a balm to her hidden struggles.

As Ameena was struggling emotionally, Zara seem to realise that she is unable to control her powers anymore.
