"Decaf Americano with Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam....your all-time favourite" Mayur said putting the mug on top of a far corner side table and sat there with her own steaming cup of tea

"hmmm....and what are you having there ?" the lady asked with a smirk

"masala chai"

"exotic smell"

"to what do i owe this DISPLEASURE Marianna!"

"hey...that's mean" Marianna shaw glared but there was no real anger

''are you offended" Mayur smirked

"I've grown a very thick skin over years.....so no"

''good....!" She was about to go

"come back.....look at you, you look miserable" Marianna scoffed and whispered, looking at Mayur

Mayur on the other hand was playing with her cup, she let out a sigh as she sat opposite of her

"you out of all people know why i left" She muttered

"and how's that going" She provocatively asked making Mayur go still on her seat

"are you keeping eye on me?" Mayur  asked with face bare of any expression

"no i just--"

"stop now.... if you are" She said again in warning tone

"i don't have to Mayur......i don't have to have you followed to keep tabs on you but I'm not blind, if that's what you are claiming'' Marianna sternly disagreed with her allegation and took a large sip from her mug

"no that's not what i meant" Mayur mumbled feeling slightly guilty, she knew Marianna enough to know that she was just looking out for her

''just remember.....all you need to do is contact me whenever you change your mind, it's not too late.''

Mayur just gave her a nervous nod while Marianna left the Cafe leaving a 50 dollar bill......

Marianna looked at them and the others and then asked
''gentlemen, do you know why you have been called here ?.....I'm Marianna Shaw by the way''

"well i suppose because of my supposed daughter! I assure you, we have nothing to do with what so over she had been involved in past few days nor we contacted her. If you please hurry up, we ----i do not have time for this nonsense" Alec Parrish haughtily replied

though Yohan always loved Naina Mayuree's mom, safe to say he was never a fan of Alec parrish, he sometime acted like a completely inconvenient asshole.

that's why he never visited him to California once after they disowned Mayur, why would he ? he wasn’t related to him through her after all

Is that suppose to be a matter of being proud that He didn't contact his own fucking daughter for all these fucking days ?

Was it supposed to make him a good father ?

well, how would he know! His own father was-----his thought cut off by Marianna's sharp voice

''of course you don't and maybe that's the reason your daughter was kidnapped years ago, because you simply DIDN'T have time'' Marianna spat with tight jaw.

"The hell are you talking about, they said she got lost while playing and was raised in orphanage, not kidnapped. Officer Kallan told__"

"deputy director of FBI" Cole cuts him off and pointed his fellow agents ''Kallan Shepherd is my father,  Mr.Parrish. I'm Cole, this is Yohan Qureshi and Mayur is your actual daughter, we are kidnapped by a mafia group leader named Igor Velkovski and we were taken to Russia, but we escaped after a long time, from Pakistan. It's a long story.

All you need to know is my father made all the arrangements even faked our death, that's where you got those paper cut pictures. He Choose an orphanage and instructed it's head-sister to contact you to inform you about your lost daughter only because Mayur never wanted anyone to know about her dark past and judge her for what happened in there and neither did any of us"

''Kidnapped ?'' Ezekiel asked, frankly he wasn’t really shocked after hearing this, he surmised from those nightmare that something bad had happened to her, but hearing this
his heart dropped into his feet.

''Yes and not just 4 of us but there were many more. But only we came out of there alive and sane and joined FBI, Mayur joined 1 and half year later. We worked together but she resigned right before her marriage'' Yohan answered

'you didn't tell me anything about THAT that day!' Ezekiel glared at Yohan

"I answered exactly what you asked, what you wanted to know. Beside, i had no idea of how much you knew, how much she decided to disclose infront of you.

turned out absolutely nothing, guess she knew what the result would be, you'd never listen'' Yohan turned to Alec and continued, ''you disowned her, kicked her out and he divorced her''

"What is the point of this meeting" Alec parrish's face turned red, he was baffled,

Both were!

He yelled in rage and shame too perhaps

''I don't know whether it'll make you happy or sad but your BIOLOGICAL DAUGHTER proved herself innocent of that bombing incident, Mr.Parrish, that is the point of this meeting is to let you know'' Marianna answered looking at Alec and she continued

''you know, years ago Kallan met a 15 years old girl who apparently was pointing gun at one Pakistani agent. But instead of shooting him, that 15 years old mastered up all her courage, surrendered herself and she told him a story,....

it was a story about her and many others like her --- of their pain, struggle and pleaded him for help.

So, even when his other fellow officers suggested that agent not to pay heed to any of her lies, he didn't listen to them, instead he took a leap of faith and helped her, THEM, in more than one way. That day, his one single decision changed their life, pulled them away from the hell they were in.

"'your daughter Mayur, Mr.Parrish was that girl, Kallan met 9 years ago in Pakistan.

Since then, she was so conflicted about whether or not she would find her parents, her family that she even suggested that it should her who spies on Igor Velkovski on our behalf, but we....I convinced her otherwise!

you could have had a little faith in your daughter Mr.Parrish. And Mr.King, you ? I've no words left, not for you, not when her own family never believed her___'' Her eyes turned glassy so she turned around and blinked few times but after clearing her throat she instructed the three of them in professional tone.....
''the meetings over, you guys! back to your duty

And my sincerest apology for WASTING your time Mr.Parrish, Mr.King'' Marianna said again and smirked inwardly feeling satisfied

"Wait..where is she ? H...hhow is she ?" Alec's voice shook, it was thick with emotions

''Alive'' Cole turned and answered coldly and then left from there

Everybody left.....

except two men there in that room regretting their decision they took in haste!
