So, he made calls early morning and arranged everything with Richard and invited her parents his at his father's mansion, of course he couldn’t possibly ask whatever he wanted infront of Mayuree.

"is there a problem son ?.out of no where you __"

'What are you hiding ?' one look from his son and Richard stopped, besides Ezekiel cuts him off by asking directly to Mayur's parents

They frowned, off guarded --- all 3 of them just looked at each other!
"W--what are you talking a-bout!" Noyon stammered, her nervousness was perfectly visible on her face
"why-- w-hat happened exactly" She meekly asked

''that's what I'm asking, aunty''

"Son!" Richard's voice rumbled in his chest, it was a simple word said in gentle voice, hidden warning under it didn’t go unnoticed by Ezekiel

''I want to know.
and don't you deny, otherwise--'' He ignored his father's voice and said again, this time looking hardly at them

"mind you attitude boy, where is your manner" Richard's voice boomed as he glared at his son

''Then tell them to answer me truthfully'' He glared back ''why there is no record of her here in New York--in USA ? who is she ? Is she even your daughter ? Where was she ? Why there is no information about her is available anywhere when i tried searching ?" He asked again.

he had enough of secrets

Her mother started sniffling, even her father looked at him shocked!
flabbergasted from his outburst. Richard didn't know what to say here or where to start.

He sighed, looking away.

''she went missing when she was 5'' Alec whispered while crying.

Ezekiel's eyes widened in shock, he looked like someone pulled away the ground beneath his feet.

"....she returned after 9 years!" Noyon said looking at him gloomily

"and of course she is their daughter, you do not have to worry about her authenticity, it was verified by DNA test by our family doctor. Whatever made you do a security check on her" Richard added and glared again

''And why did you have to hide it from me ?'' He frustratingly asked

"you never asked, so we didn't bother" Richard just shrugged as if it didn't bother him but inside he was really getting angry, frustrated actually.

How dare he try to insult his friends infront him, embarrassing him infront of them......

after all these why now he needs to know ? Richard thought, something must have happened

"and who asked such questions" Ezekiel snapped at his father

"oh! I don't know-- who would do a security check on his wife"

Ezekiel gritted his teeth before turning away

''have you noticed anything abnormal in her behaviour, Mr. Parrish after -- she came back ?''

"No, though she never talked much about her past years, a sister from the orphanage returned her to us saying she got lost and some people saw her brought her to the church and they took her in and put her in that orphanage where she was raised. Orphanage authority contacted us when they somehow found out about cops trying to find missing child and NYPD informed us and that's when we went there.....we even took a DNA test to as cops suggested,...our family doctor confirmed that she is our daughter" Alec replied earnestly

"You could've asked that before, you didn't have to hire detective for that! this is embarrassing....you dare humiliate my friend -- your wife's parents over a trivial matter" Richard said angrily....

''yes, a wife who doesn't eat properly, doesn't sleep properly and have constant nightmares''

"she never told us anything and she wasn't here either until she turned 17. We sent her to india 6 months after she came back to us, to live with one of my friend's house in Mumbai. She studied there 1 and half year but she came back......

After she came back from orphanage, she was always silent. We thought she had problem adjusting, though soon she started mingling with us. She was here for 6 months, remember, you came back just few months before  our anniversary party, we were suppose to introduce her to you day after our party but -- we sent her india next day with Ferdousi, her cousin, b-cause o-of an emergency" Noyon said awkwardly looking away.

"My brother died, robbery attempt in his house" Alec interrupted
"Our doctor suggested that little change of atmosphere would be beneficial for our girls" Noyon replied sniffling

"but she did told us about making her room soundproof though when she came back" She added further ''She is ok, Right ? she didn't do anything to offend you, did she ?"

Ezekiel gave his godmother a long look

Is she serious now, what's wrong with Indian mothers, Here he was concerned about her daughter's mental well-being and She's asking if her daughter did anything to offend him, As if her son-in-law is more important than her own daughter, Ezekiel thought

He shook his head and answered
''no Aunty she is absolutely fine, she did nothing to offend me. I was just concerned. I was thinking about appointing a doctor - a nutritionist perhaps and i apologize if i offended you. I've to head home father. She's alone. I'll take your leave....I'm sorry again"

Apparently that's it, no one knew what exactly happened to her all those years, in that orphanage for 9 years !

that's something he didn’t expect to hear.

Is that why he didn't saw her when he went to Parrish house before leaving for his higher studies ?

she was just 3 or 4 and he was 15 maybe when he first saw her in one of their dinner.

back then he wanted to meet that little gir before leaving for study, but he couldn't, no one told him she went missing though, he did remember his father and her parents being all tensed, hearing her mother crying and screaming out of her lungs.

he remembered missing that little caterpillar terribly back then!

was it all she was hiding ?

Or there's more to it ?

Now that Yohan maybe, could be the only one who knew about her ? he should have done a background check on him as well.

there was possibility,....

he thought while driving when his phone beeped, frowning eyebrows, he pulled his phone out to check, someone sent another picture from private number that made him halt his car with a loud screech!

very old picture, possibly a cut out of a newspaper headlines about 2 terrorist died and 2 missing in a shootout.....with small writings beneath it!

strange! who would bother sending something like this and why ?

He carefully zoomed it and noticed, it was a picture of a young Mayur Parrish with another guy on her side!

a terrorist shootout in Pakistan ?

She died in a terrorist shootout !?

Then who is here with him ?

who is she ?
