"Acting so childish in your forties, unbelievable..." Sakura mumbled angrily under her breath while watching Sasuke and Naruto enter the back of the patrol car.

"You tell him." Naruto retorted, glaring at Sasuke who sit beside her as well. The latter did not say anything and sat quietly without sparing them a glance.

Sakura sighs and rolls his eyes, knowing very well her boyfriend won't give a damn about what she has to say. She knew Sasuke wasn't the type of person to care about what others think of him either.

The situation finally calms down now. The flashing lights of the police cars cut through the night, casting an eerie glow over the scene. The tension that had gripped the air like a vice was slowly dissipating, leaving behind a heavy silence that seemed to echo the turmoil of emotions that had just unfolded.

Sarada stood on the pavement, her chest rising and falling in rapid breaths as she tried to make sense of the chaos that had erupted moments ago. Her gaze flickered towards her mother, Sakura, who stood a few feet away, looking exhausted. The lines on Sakura's face seemed etched deeper now, a testament to the struggles she had endured over the years.

"You had a panic attack." Boruto said quietly beside her. She looks up at his direction and sees his worried eyes staring at her sympathetically.

"I'm ok." She whispered.

"Don't try to act strong, Sarada. It's not working on me." He answered, still watching her carefully.

Sakura approached the two teenagers. She stopped a few inches in front of Sarada, and stared straight in her green eyes. "I can't believe this happened. Now the police want me to go to the station for questioning. What a night." She sighed. "I think you should go home first." She told her daughter with a stern look.

"I'll take her home, Sakura-obasan." The blond boy volunteered.

"Thank you, Boruto. You're a big help. Your mom is going to drop Hima at the Hyuuga house and join me at the police station. She says that you better go back home soon too." Sakura spoke, looking over at Sarada, telling her to go.

Boruto holding his hand out for her. Sarada hesitantly accepted his hand and let him pull her gently away from the scene. When their hands entwined, Sarada could feel Boruto squeeze hers slightly.

The night air felt heavy with unspoken words as Sarada and Boruto walked in a silence that echoed the turmoil of the evening's events. The dimly lit streets cast long shadows that danced around them, mirroring the complexity of emotions swirling within their hearts.

As they reached the familiar apartment building, Boruto stepped forward and held the door open for Sarada, a silent gesture that spoke volumes amidst the chaos that had unfolded. Sarada hesitated for a moment, her mind still reeling from the events of the night, but the warmth in Boruto's eyes offered a sense of solace that she couldn't ignore.

"Thank you." She mumbled quietly, with a small, grateful nod.

"Get inside, it's cold." He patted her shoulder gently.

Sarada turned her back and she could see the empty, hollow living room of the apartment. Everything feels so cold and unfamiliar. A wave of sadness washed over her and she bit her lip in a failed attempt to hide the growing lump forming in her throat.

"I'll go home now," said Boruto. "Please get some rest." He added softly and gave her one last look.

"W-wait." Sarada squeaked. She tugs the back of his t-shirt, causing him to turn back to her.
