Maya Aseal

One week later.

It's been a week since Race and the bodyguards dragged Killian out of my apartment. Race had put a tight surveillance on Killian. It was a while before Killian could go back to his room. I gulped down my nervous feelings and walked into his room.

I did feel bad for doing that to him. I betrayed him when all he wanted to do was love me. After two days, I figured out I had feelings for him. For someone they called a monster, a beast. But he was my monster, my beast.

But since last week, I don't know anymore.

"I brought your medicine.." No response. "Killian." Again, no response.

I sighed before strolling over to where he was. He sat in his bed with chains clenched to his wrist.

"Kill–" He cuts me up.

"Shut the fuck up." He looked up at me as his eyes twinkled with anger and hurt. I felt my heart shattered at his deadly words. "I'm sorry, I-I just brought your medicine.."

All he did was look, his expression unreadable. He didn't make a move to take the medication from me and didn't want to say a word. His body just sat there, staring into my soul with his fiery, cold, intense gaze. I gulped.

"Killian, please work with me." He scoffs.

"Why should I? Huh?" He utters, his voice laced with anger. "Please. Look, I'm sorry."

"Save it, Maya." He hissed. "I don't want to hear a lick of what you have to say! Your pointless excuses, your apologies, or your stupid explanations. You not only betrayed me but lied to me, and that is something I'll never – ever – forget."

I bit back my tongue. "I'm sorry.."

He clenched his jaw while his eyes narrowed at me. I didn't mean to hurt him, but I was saving him. Me. Us. I gulped and looked down at his chains.

"I-I-" No words couldn't explain how sorry I am. "We would have never made it anyway."

He scoffs. "See, how do you know that? You don't! Because you decided to give me away, and now look at me!" He showed his chains, but I looked away. "No, open your damn eyes. See, this is what you did!"

I felt tears start to sting the back of my eyes. Killian wasn't wrong. I caused him to be locked up and hurt. I opened my eyes and stared at the chains as his words hit me like a wrecking ball.

"Speak! And don't fucking cry!" His tone venomous.

It was too late. Tears fell from my eyes. "I-I'm sorry.."

In one swift move, one of his rough hands found my chin and gripped it. He was standing up now as he looked down at me. I whined when his nails dug into my face. His eyes through my water ones. His eyes were black — like dark black. This isn't Killian.

"Such a coward. What a pathetic, weak, useless piece of crap you are." He spits, his other hand finding my waist, and grips it like there's no tomorrow. I cry harder. "I can't believe my heart fell for someone careless!"

I closed my eyes when his words hit me. "Please.."

"Please, nothing. Oh, my Mia Bella, Maya. You brought this on yourself. Your. Pretty. Little. Self." His voice dripped with dangerous poison as he whispered the last part in my ear. "You deserve to die right now, but I won't. And you want to know why? Because the heart I have for you is too big for you to leave me."

"Killian, please.." I felt my blood start to leave my chin, his nails digging deeper.

"Please, nothing. You should have thought about what you've done." His words are blunt. "Does it hurt?" He squeezed harder, not only on my chin but my wrist.

"Y-Yes.." I sob. "Please, stop."

He doesn't listen and grips me tighter, a flicker of enjoyment in his eyes. He was enjoying seeing me in pain. This isn't the Killian I know. What did they do to him?

"No." He whispered, my eyes closing. "Open. Your. Damn. Eyes!"

I did what he said and looked at him, Killian smirking in victory. I feel his hands finally let me go and take the medicine. Touching my bleeding chin, I hissed, feeling the burning sting.

"Remember this the next time you decide to betray me." He grits.

"I-I..Okay.."I whispered.  The words that left my mouth were filled with fear as I held onto my bleeding chin. I'm going to wake up with a bruised chin and wrist.

"That's my girl. Now, do your pretty little self a favor and leave or," He bends down to my ear and whispers. "I'll throw you over this bed and make you not walk for a whole week." He wasn't joking.

I gulp, taking in all his words. I didn't hesitate and took my leave before I was a dead girl walking.

"I'm sorry, WHAT?!" Solana hissed as she choked on her water.

I hushed her by covering her lips as we talked outside. It was the only place I knew no one could hear us as I told her what happened to me and what happened last week between me and Killian. My Killian.

"Yes, now hush!" She slaps my hand away.

"Don't hush me! You like this psycho maniac and you liked the way he kissed you last week! Not to also mention this asshole messed you up. He hurt you!" I sigh.

"I know, but please work with me, So," I beg.

It takes her a minute to debate with herself inside before sighing. "Fine, Fine, I'll see what I can do." I smile.

She waves me off. "Just try your best to stay away from him as much as you can, okay?"

"Okay."
