Maya Aseal

I gulp, feeling the color of my skin drain from my body.

"H-He escaped?" I whispered still in a state of shock.

"Yes, he suddenly went off in the cafeteria. He caused chaos and even hurt some of the guards in the process." Solana points over to the ambulance.

I didn't even notice them along with some police officers.

My mouth goes dry. Killian could be anywhere out here in the city. I'm afraid to even go home now because he could be there waiting for me to come back.

This is all my fault.

"This is all my fault!" Lisa cries in panic. "I could lose my job!"

Solana tried to calm her down, but it wasn't working. Many thoughts were just swirling in my thoughts about where Killian could be. My heart goes to pick up when we hear the Boss call for everyone to go home for safety. The cops pretty much had everything in control.

My mouth went even drier when I realized that I was now in my car driving home. Ringing took over my ears when I made it back to my apartment complex. Everything seemed normal, too normal for my comfort. Sliding out of the car, I go ahead and grab all my things.

Worry and panic feel me with each step I take upstairs to my apartment. Anything can just happen in the nick of seconds.

Heading over to my door, I went to unlock it...but the door was already unlocked.

My heart falls to my butt.

Taking in a deep breath, I slowly step in to be greeted by a cold wind in darkness. I close the door behind me slowly, feeling a sense of something behind me. Not thinking of it too much I turn back around only to feel a big hand wrap around my neck.

Killian.

"You lied to me." He growled slowly under his breath as his grip tightened. I go to put my hands on his wrist, feeling my airway start to close. "You played me!"

I know he can feel me struggling under him by the way his eyes darken. I tried to push him away, but telling how hurt he was. He wasn't going to do such a thing. His breathing was heavy and deep. "Why did you betray me again Mia Bella?"

"I-I c-can't breathe.." I managed to say feeling his hand go tighter.

"Y-You promised me that you would never betray me again and look at what you've done." His tone was cold. "Mia Bella, you hurt me. Hurt me so much that my heart is crying for you. Has anyone ever told you that there is a price to pay for hurting someone?"

I gasp for air. "W-What d-do you mean, K-Killian?"

He releases a deep sigh like a bull while closing his eyes. Was he trying to hold back tears?

"You know damn well what I mean," He snapped. Killian's eyes were now a deep shade of black. "You gave information about me to the Boss, information that could ruin not only me but for my damn family! And to make matters worse you agreed to do it with no hesitation! I thought that was only for you and only for your eyes to see!"
I could barely see now. Everything in my view was becoming blurry.

"Answer me!" He grips harder.

"H-He said it was just only f-for y-y-" I gasp for more air. "Y-your file.."

His eyes narrowed at my words as if he didn't believe me. His hand was going in and out on the grip of my neck as if he was having an inner battle with himself whether not to hurt me or to keep me alive. His anger for me and resentment towards me were growing, but I could see a flicker of something in him to restrain me from killing me beyond repair.

"Don't bullcrap me, Mia Bella!" He spat, his voice coming out as acid. "You expect me to believe such a lie from your pretty little mouth?! Both of you knew exactly what you guys were doing when you used me to get my information. Maya, you knew that information would hurt me! But of course, my Mia Bella did it anyway!"

"K-Killian, I p-promises," I gulp. "H-He played me. H-He t-t-told m-me t-that h-he w-wouldn't do anything w-with it." At this point, my breathing was starting to become short and rigid.
He goes quiet again, having another battle with himself.

"Damn it, Maya." He whispered, feeling a mixture of anger and guilt. "Why? Just why? Why did you do this to me again?"

I could no longer speak as I felt my airway giving up.

"Maya!" He grits, letting go of me instantly.

My airway reopened. My legs give out on me as I fall to the floor coughing for air. With each cough I took, the air in my lungs started to come back.

"I-I'm so so sorry, Maya," Killian whispered, looking down at me.

I wave him off, trying everything in me to come back to normal. "I-I promise you, Kill. He played me."

Killian sighs and helps me off the floor to the living room. He sits me down first before he goes to sit down. Killian's face is in his hands as if he's trying to think.

"Kill–" He cuts me off.

"And what do you mean by he played you, Maya?" He snaps his head towards me. "How do I know that you aren't just lying to me."

"You can't but he told me that nothing would happen to it. The Boss reassured me to know that nothing would happen, but I guess he took my naivety and kindfulness into play." I whispered the last part.

"You're an idiot to do such a thing. To trust him." He mumbles.

I cock an eyebrow. "You don't think I know that by now?"

Killian doesn't say anything but looks straight ahead of him.

"Plus, he's not the only one I trusted and took advantage of me!" I stand up. "I trusted you didn't I?"

That catches his attention.

"Maya.." He trails off.

"No! I've been played with the entire time and you're acting as if you're the only one hurting! I honestly haven't hadn't gotten a break ever since I met you, Killian! I mean I took care of you out of my kindness because one–" I held one finger up. "No one waited to take care of you because they were scared of you and two–" I held one more. "Because I wanted to help you, change you. But can I do that? No! It's been a constant thing between us about whether me and you are even meant to be! I honestly don't know what else to say because—because..." I trail off.

Killian goes to stand up. His tall frame body hovering mine in anticipation of my next words. "Because what, Maya?"

Yeah, because what Maya?

"Because.." The words were stuck.

"Maya..." He steps closer, taking my hand in his. "W-What is it? Just say it already."

Wow, this is harder than I thought.

Releasing a deep breath, I let my heart speak for me.

"Because I-I love you, Killian." I barely whispered.

"W-What did you say?" He asked, his voice of tone matching mine.

"I love you, Killian. I know what we've been through would make a normal person mad and upset, but I can't help being with you. When you came and kissed me or when you were in a state that wasn't you. Yes, I've said many things to upset you because I was hurt and I didn't fully understand what was going on. I'm so, so, so sorry, and I never really meant for any of this to happen it's –" I got cut off when Killian pulled me in and smashed our lips together.

It took me a minute to realize the confrontation between us, but in the end, I kissed back and wrapped my arms around him as he kissed me hard and passionately.
