"And then Auggie and I robbed a bank in Canada," Riley said to finish off her story.

"Uh huh. That's great," Maya mumbles.

"You're not even listening to me," Riley exclaims. "You haven't been listening to anything I've been saying for the past ten minutes have you?"

"Love you too," Maya replies, distracted.

"Maya!" Riley takes Maya's phone away from her in order to get her attention. "You've been staring at it ever since I stepped foot in here."

"Sorry, Riles," Maya apologizes. "I was just expecting someone."

"Ooh," Riley giggles excitedly. "My Maya is expecting someone?"

"Riley," Maya says to stop her friend from going any farther.

"What's his name? Is he cute?" Riley starts to jump up and down on the couch. "Tell me, tell me, tell me!"

"Riley," Maya shouts.

"Sorry." Riley gives Maya back her phone and relaxes a bit.

Maya sighs. "I've only just met him. It's not really a big deal."

"Yet, you're waiting for him to call you," Riley says.

"Ok, I might be a little interested," Maya admits. "But it doesn't mean anything."Old Huckleberry Finn is probably just looking for a friend here in the big city.

"You are Maya Penelope Hart; a fierce Amazon warrior," Riley says. "Why should he make the first move?"

Maya nods in agreement. "Yeah. I am aren't I?"

"And you will not sit here desperately waiting on some guy, now are you?"

"No!" Both girls were becoming a bit too excited; they were both on the brink of yelling.

"So, what are you going to do," Riley asks.

"I'm gonna text him," Maya says strongly.

"Ok! That's good enough for me!"

When Maya unlocks her phone and opens her contacts, she stops. "Wait, wait, wait. What do I say?"

Just as Riley was going to say something, Maya's phone begins to ring. When Maya sees who it is, she shrieks and throws her phone on the sofa.

"It's him," Maya says.

"Well answer it!"

"I can't!"

"Oh yes you can!" Riley grabs the phone and presses the green button.

"Hello," Riley says trying her best to sound like Maya.

"Uh, Hello?"

Riley smiles giddily and tosses the phone to Maya.

"What? Oh, hey. What's up, Lucas," Maya says awkwardly.

"Lucas," Riley whispers. "Hmm, sounds French."

"Nothing much," Lucas says. "Just hanging out with some friends."

Zay and Farkle try their best to remain quiet because Lucas has Maya on speaker.

"What about you," he asks.

"Oh me? I'm just relaxing at the casa," Maya responds. "Why?"

"Just ask her out already," Farkle whispers. Zay elbows him in the side to shut him up.

"What was that," Maya asks.

"Oh nothing," Lucas says. He turns off the speaker and sits away from his friends.

Meanwhile, back in Maya's apartment, Riley was practically on Maya's back trying to listen in on the conversation. Maya's attempts to shove her away were futile and Riley was very persistent.

"Just ask him out," Riley urges. "What are you waiting for?"

Maya realizes that Riley is right; she should just go for it. The worst that could happen is he say no and why wouldn't he? Maya was just Maya; nobody special.

She takes a deep breath and presses the phone to her ear. Without hesitation, she says, "Wanna go back to that park?"

***

"What?"

"I mean, it's nice and quiet there," Maya states. "A perfect place for us to hang out again. Like you said."

Lucas didn't even try to hide his happiness. He smiles ear to ear before answering. "You know what? I'd like that."

"Whoa, whoa. Don't get too excited, Huckleberry," Maya jokes. "It's not like we're going horseback riding." She says the last part in a thick southern accent.

"What's she saying," Zay asks anxiously.

Lucas just waves him away instead of actually responding. "So, tomorrow?"

"Hey what's the rush, Ranger? I say let's meet Sunday. Sunday afternoon to be exact." Lucas could just imagine the blonde's mischievous grin.

"Sunday afternoon it is," Lucas agrees. "See you then." And then he hangs up. Lucas pumps his fist triumphantly when he rejoins Zay and Farkle in the kitchen.

"So, did you get the date or not," Zay asks when Lucas sits down. Farkle just pats his shoulder.
