[Outside abandoned building]

"Bastard John's taken our SUV," Owen growls.

Ianto checks over the scanner in Tosh's hands, tracking it, "Looks like he's driven it back to Torchwood."

Tosh sighs as alerts appear, "I'm getting readings of rift activity all over the city. Major rift flares at St Helen's Hospital, the Police Headquarters, and the Central IT Server Station."

Gwen's phone rings and she answers quickly, "Hey, Andy?"

"Gwen," he replies, "You've gotta get here right now. I'm serious; we need you."

She gestures to Rhys' car, and they rush over to it.

"Okay, I'm on my way, alright?" she hangs up and turns to Jack, "This is him, isn't it? This Captain John, or whatever he likes to call himself. "

Jack turns to Gwen's husband, "Rhys, drop Owen at the hospital. Tosh, Ianto, cover the Central Server building. Gwen, the police station, and take me to Torchwood."

Rhys raises a brow, "You think we're all going to fit in here?"

He shrugs, "Yeah, we're going to have to. "

"Jack, these are traps," Tosh implores.

"So be careful," he replies, looking at them all, "You know what he's capable of."

Gwen shakes her head, "What about you? "

"I'm gonna go reason with him."

"He just tried to kill us!" Owen cries.

"I was the only one who could ever control him," Jack informs them, "That's why the Time Agency partnered us."

Rhys sighs, "Did you just say Time Agency? Don't tell me that's based in Cardiff too."

Jack touches his pocket where his phone is for a moment, contemplating.

"If something happens to me, call this number," he orders, turning to his team, "I need all of you to put it on your speed dial right now. I disappear? Anything happens, and I'm not answering... Call it. 07711 911905"

"Whose number is it?" Tosh asks as she types it into her phone.

He's silent for a moment, "...the only way to get in contact with someone who can help."

"This is the Silent Contributor's number, isn't it?" Owen realizes, hitting save.

Jack doesn't respond; he just gets into Rhys' car.

[Rhys' car]

"Why's he doing this, Jack?" Owen asks, "What does he want?"

Jack glares straight ahead, "That's what I'm going to go ask him."

[Hub - Torchwood Command Center]

Jack pauses outside the door, breathing in deep before he enters the Torchwood hub and rolls his eyes as he hears Sarah Brightman's 'I Lost My Heart To A Starship Trooper' playing over the speaker system.

Standing on the upper gantry, John dances around, spinning a scarf around his head. "Come on," John says, "Sing along! It's our song!"

"We don't have a song," Jack deadpans, "And if we did have a song, it wouldn't be this song."

He pouts, dropping the scarf. "You're no fun," he says, raising his arm and switching off the music on his manipulator.

"Thank you," Jack nods.
