[Outside the Hotel]

Luke stands outside the hotel, shifting from foot to foot, waiting. The air is crisp with the promise of something new, yet something unsettles him. He brushes the feeling away as the sleek white Rolls Royce pulls up, its polished surface gleaming in the afternoon sun.

The door opens, and Sarah Jane steps out, radiant in a flowing silk gown. The fabric moves like water, catching the light, with delicate rose-patterned designs running along the length of the skirt. Soft, fluttering sleeves rest gently on her shoulders, and in her satin-gloved hands, she holds a bouquet of bright pink-wrapped white roses. A single bloom, matching the bouquet, is tucked into the neat bun at the nape of her neck.

Luke's heart clenches, "Mum."

Beside her, Rani fidgets in her short, empire-waist dress, the same bright pink as Sarah Jane's flowers. It's not a color Luke would have expected his mother to choose—Sky blue being her favorite—but the contrast is striking. It suits them both.

"You look good," he tells Rani.

She wrinkles her nose, "I look good?"

Luke shakes his head, smiling, "You look amazing. Both of you," turning to his mother, he adds, "I thought you might have wanted the Doctor to give you away. Maybe have the Alchemist as your maid of honor. No offense, Rani."

Sarah Jane gives a soft laugh, "I need my son, not my brother this time. And I'm so very, very glad it's you," her expression turns teasing, "Besides, where would I send the invites? Metebelis Three?"

Luke chuckles, but a frown tugs at his brow. Just weeks ago, Sarah Jane had been on the phone with the Alchemist, and only a few months before, the Time Lords picked them up and they traveled to Causarimorvarid for Jenny's Celebration. Something about all of this feels... off.

A familiar, unmistakable sound rumbles in the air—time engines.

Rani turns sharply, eyes widening.

[Wedding Room]

Inside the wedding hall, the atmosphere is warm, filled with soft conversation and the scent of fresh flowers.

Gita beams, nudging her husband, "Look at our Rani. It only seems like yesterday she was in pigtails. Oh, Sarah looks so happy. It's just like a fairy tale."

Haresh sighs, "Pull yourself together."

Under a nearby table, a small, mechanical dog hums quietly.

Clyde crouches beside it, "K9, scan."

K9's digital voice whirrs, "All normal, Master Clyde."

Clyde isn't convinced, "Yeah, so far."

Luke notices and quirks an eyebrow, "You brought the dog?"

Clyde grins, "Well, what did you think was under there? The wedding cake?" he pauses, eyes scanning the room, "There's something wrong about this."

At the front, the Registrar steps forward and clears her throat, "Good afternoon, everyone. I'm the Superintendent Registrar. We are here today to witness the marriage of Sarah Jane Smith and Peter Anthony Dalton. In each other's company, they have found happiness, fulfillment, and love, and they wish to affirm their relationship with this marriage. Now, I have to ask this question: If any person can show just cause or impediment why they may not be joined together, let them speak now or forever hold their peace."

The words are nearly drowned out by the deafening roar of the TARDIS materializing.

The heavy doors swing open, and the Doctor bursts in, wild-eyed and breathless.
