As the game concluded in the winners being the Neighbourhood Association, the imperfections and gaps became more noticeable as y/n was seen sitting in her room, black and grey striped pants with a long sleeved grey baggy top. On her feet she was wore fluffy bunny slippers and a small anklet of a feather was delicately wrapped around her ankle.
Having a knee to her chest and the other bouncing on the ground, y/n was writing in her notebook about strategies and new training drills that they could do for receiving and following through.
As she kept on trying to come up with new ideas, nothing but a black abyss formed in be in her mind. Groaning out loud, she picked up her notebook and slammed it against her head, concluding that she was, in fact, a failure.
"I am *smack* a *smack* failure." Drowsiness overwhelmed her senses as she exclaimed a loud yawn, rubbing her face to the point of redness and the execution of sleepiness.
"No you're not." From her door, y/n turned around and saw her brother Rin with a mug in his hands, the steam flowing from the top. He had a robe on with earphones hanging around his neck. "Lavender tea, to calm your nerves."
As he begun approaching her, y/n eyes began to droop as she looked at him, appreciating the gesture. "Thank you Rin, you didn't have to go through the trouble." She reached her hand to the mug and gentle brought it to her face, allowing the steam to caress her.
Rin walked past her and sat on her bed, bringing a plush to his chest and holding it tightly with one hand. "No problem, I don't mind. It's the least I can do for you. Dinner was delicious by the way."
Smiling slightly from his compliment, her teal eyes gazed over her work, the scribbles of pencil looking like a tornado of confusion. She sighed once again as she closed the book, deciding just to sleep on it.
Lifting the mug to her face, she blew on it a couple of times before taking sips from it, becoming absorbed with the lavender aroma and essence. Feeling herself melt, she stood up and laid on her bed, a small distance between her and Rin, but her legs resting on top of his.
A placid scenery was painted between the two. Owls from outside hooted from the star filled sky. With the window slightly open, the wind brought a hush breeze as the two breathed in the air of pureness.
There was a peaceful silence between the two, as if any spoken word would disassemble the order during the night. However, Y/n sighed as her eyes turned doleful, and a disconcerted tone lingered through her voice. "Do you think we will be the same in the future?"
A moment of silence sat between them, before shuffling could be heard and the girl felt a hand on her head. Drifting her gaze to the right, teal clashed with teal as Rin looked down at her thoughtfully.
At first, in his mind, he was at disbelief by her question. Of course we would be, what sort of ludicrous question is that? That seemed to be the only sane response.
But the more he thought about her question, the more he begun to query about their future. And the more he thought, the more immeasurable possibilities begun to spill into his mind.
Then he begun to recall their older brother, Sae. He remembered all the precious moments those three shared, it truly felt as though those three would be beside each other forever. But nonetheless, Sae seemed to prove him wrong as now he was stuck reminiscing all the lovely times, rather than capturing new ones.
And looking down at his sister, he seemed to be struggling more than ever to have a response to her question. His frows dipped, and his mouth begun to slacken, his eyes now at a mourn.
Within that moment, the only words he could manage to mutter were, "I don't know..." He never received a reply, but instead felt a soft hand touch his own, and a slight squeeze of reassurance. The silence resurfaced, but in the misfit of it, there was understanding.
