Braedey doesn't acknowledge this as he stood up, dusts himself off, then he goes to pass the others. Asuka was about to charge and tackle him down to demand to know what he was thinking, but Betty, Nick and Dante held her back as best they can, not wanting to have any bloodshed on the airbase. Braedey shows his I.D to the security, and he walked off of the base, not even daring to look back. As he does so, he could still hear the yells in his head.
"I'm shocked that you're even a pilot to begin with in the first place! You're a failure!" Asuka's yells could be heard. "This kid, the Third Pilot, can't even fly around with a crowd watching him!" Misato's voice could also be heard. "Why couldn't you get out there in the F-14 and show them what you can do?" Travis' voice also spoke in his head. "He chose a coward's path. He became a disgrace to the family name by not being a pilot."
Braedey snarled out before he stood by a nearby van and he suddenly swung his right arm and punches the window as it shattered to pieces. He pulls back his hand, not even caring about the bleeding his hand has. He then grunted as he began to walk back to Misato's home.
'I've had enough.' Was all Braedey spoke out mentally, repeating himself as he walked away from the airbase.
~*~*~
In the early hours of the next morning, before the sun even rose above the horizon, Misato awoke to her alarm clock and began her morning routine to get herself ready. As she did so, she was thinking about what had happened with Braedey yesterday and why he had stalled on the runway, as well as what she had found with the newspaper article she discovered. She also recalled that when she got home late last night after being ordered by the Commander to have the F-14 pilot ready to go at once the following morning with no exception, she took notice that Braedey didn't even acknowledge her being home or anything else as he went off to bed, not even breathing a word to her.
'I wonder if he's going to be able to do the flight or not.' Misato thought to herself. 'Then again...' She recalled the scared look in his eyes when he was in the locker room. 'The way he looked... I can't be sure...'
After she had gotten dressed, Misato now stood outside of Braedey's room. She knocks on the door. "Braedey, it's time to get up. It's the second and last day of the airshow. The F-14 is all ready and it needs a pilot to fly it." She was met with an uncomfortable silence coming from the room. "Braedey?" Misato opens the door, her eyes widening as she looks inside.
The room was completely empty. There was nothing out of place; all the shelves and bed have been clean and arranged, the bedsheets done up and set, and on top of that, Braedey was not in the room. All there was left was his EAF I.D card, plus a note saying 'I'm Done'.
Misato looks on, then she sighs to herself. "So he really ran away..." She steps back from the room. She gets on the phone and she made a call to the Security Service. A second later, Misato heard the doorbell ring. She made her way to the door, and she saw Nick and Dante both there. "Oh. Nick. Dante. Have you seen Braedey?" She asked.
