//Chapter 14// Was he Jealous?

My eyes slowly fluttered open, then, a small yawn escaped my lips. Before i could even stretch out my arms, a pair of arms was wrapped around me.
I tensed, before blushing.
I turned my head slightly, to see Kaizo was still in his slumber. I didn't want to wake him up, he looks so adorable and less scary while asleep.

I smiled to myself, before slowly removing his arms wrapped around my waist and arm. He mumbles in his sleep, stopping as he moves.

"Mm.. Y/n.."

My eyes widen slightly as i was still in my place frozen, watching him shift around. Did he called for me?
I shifted closer, like my body had fully taken control of its own. My hand slowly reaches towards his face, then gently brushing the strands of his dark hair off his face. I nearly broke into tears, i cant believe i slept with someone has handsome and angelic has him— when asleep, atleast-

A soft smile formed to my lips, i don't know why i was smiling, and that i knew i shouldn't be smiling.
But before i could pull my hand back, Kaizo's hand quickly wrapped his hand around my wrist all so suddenly.
I froze once more, my eyes widening in surprise. My heart almost stopped at his act.

"K- Kaizo.."
Gosh, i'm such an idiot..
I cursed under my breath as i watched his eyes slowly opens, the sun hitting his hair and face.

He just hums, then his grip on my wrist loosens.
"Sorry, i thought someone broke in."

Why the heck would he think that?

His voice was cold and raspy for a moment, he then cleared his throat before sitting up. This made me freeze again. Doesn't he have a mission to attend? Or maybe a meeting? Why was he up so late now, its probably 8:10 in the morning currently.

I grabbed his hand before he could even get up.
"Don't you have work?"

"Oh, that.."
Kaizo mumbles.
"I took a one day break, i managed to somehow convince Commander to let me rest for the day."

I see..
I thought, releasing his hand.
"Alright, that's good! Take the day to rest."
I left Kaizo to get changed, I got up from the soft cushion, walking out of the bedroom. My heart was still drumming inside me, and i couldn't stop it.

I stopped by the kitchen, letting out a breath to relax. My hands gripping in the edge of the marbled counter of the kitchen.
"Gosh, why is he so... handsome...?"

The door from our bedroom creaked open, i kept my composure in check before continuing to make breakfast.

"Do you even know how to cook?"
Kaizo sternly says, crossing his arms on his chest while he eyed me.

I scoffed, he was insulting nonetheless despite his handsomeness.
"Yes, i can. You cant doubt your wife's abilities."
I teased by calling myself "his wife", which i think can get under his skin—

"Oh yeah..? Want to prove your husband how much of a good cook you are?"
He also teased, given by his voice and sudden change of attitude.

I stood there quietly as i cook our breakfast, fully ignoring his statement now.
Kaizo turns his head towards the coffee table from the living room, his one brow arching in confusion.

"By the way, i didn't know you can be so sweet."

I turned to him, dumbfounded.

"You actually thought of bringing glowers for me last night?"

My eyes widened, as i blushed in embarrassment.
"Y- you got it all wrong!- i-"

"So its not for me, then for who..?"
He slowly steps closer, his footsteps heavy and scary. I backed away, trying to properly cook up an excuse for him to stop.

"It doesn't matter!"
He'd also probably teased me further if i tell him it was only for Cathy.

"Y/n."
Hw said firmly, standing right infront of my face without hesitation. His eyes narrowed down on me, angrily staring. His cold eyes was like staring to my soul. He surely intended to scare the answer out of me.
"Who are those for, hm?"

Wait, was he jealous? I knew i shouldn't tease him, because he was now angry at me. It confused me why though.
"W- why does it matter?"

"Because it just does."
He then held my shoulders in his tight grip, before pulling me closer.
"Now, tell me.."

"Why should i? Are you jealous?"
I scoffed, without thinking i muttered out those words to him, which i soon regretted on doing.

"So what if i am..."
