//Chapter 21// Worries like fire

Kaizo gripped on the wheel tightly as he continued to drive, i sat silently, wondering what was going on.
Noticing many people starting to panic outside, running around in fear.

I turned to Kaizo with a concerned look, but at the same time, i dont want to ruin the silence which seemed to be what he needed.
Suddenly, Kaizo's phone rings.

"Captain, you are obliged to take responsibility of the situation. Do not worry, help will arrive very soon and not too late. Be sure to evacuate and assist the city's people to their safety, Commanders orders. And be sure to assist your wife before leaving for battle-"

"What battle?"
I turned towards Kaizo anxiously as the voice continued to speak.

"The attack was set by a PowerSphera hunter, be prepared for any futher attacks. See you all soon at our arrival."

The screen of the car let out a small "beep" as the class cuts off there. My expression remained.

"Kaizo, what battle?.."
I ask again when he let out a long and deep sigh, his right hand leaving the wheel before placing ontop of mine.

"Let's just get you back home, where it's safe."
His voice sounded serious, and cold.
I shivered, in fear and worriedly.

I sat back, quietly. My mind was still running with alot of question, if this was an attack, shouldn't i be assisting them aswell? I'm a nurse, if ever someone gets injured, atleast i'll be there to help.
Why has my father not called me?.. does he know this was happening? Surely, since TAPOP's already contacted his crew members, and maybe ours aswell. But why not me?
Our wedding hasn't even started yet, and the possibility of Kaizo not returning shook me.

Timeskip~

We arrived at our shared home, Kaizo parked the car on the side. I paused, seeing Kaizo's assistant continuously knocking on our front door. As he hears the car pulling over, he turned at our direction.

"Miss L/n..."
He mumbles, marching quickly towards us.

(I'll name his Carl for now 😌)

"Captain, there has been an unexpected attack-"

"I'm aware."
Kaizo says firmly.
"I need to take for something, while you're here, stay beside Y/n for now. Keep her safe and well monitored, if something bad happens, be sure to contact me immediately. Am i clear?"

"Yes sir."
Carl nodded in his command, he then held out his hand.
"Lets get you inside, Miss L/n."

I turned back at Kaizo, worriedly.
"Are you.. coming back soon?"

Kaizo's expression shifted, a soft smile forming in his lips. His hand reached up towards me cheek, caressing it gently.
"I will, dont worry about me. And no misbehaving, whatever my assistant commands you, you will do it for your safety, am i clear?"

I sighed, before nodding aswell.
"Be safe, Y/n.."
He whispered, pressing his lips against my forehead.

"You too."
I smiled as he retreated his head back.
"You know what to do, Carl."

"Yes sir."

He then proceeded to pull me back inside the house, which seems safe for now. I turned my head back, glancing back at Kaizo for the last time as he drove off again. I didnt even had a chance to say it to me before he left..
