The Tensions of Skip and Smot

-At the Smot Castle-

"Make sure Glitzy goes to school tomorrow. I will not endorse her bullshit." Tinsel growled. "Yes dear. She'll be at school tomorrow." Peppermint agreed. "I'm going to the stables to talk to the stable boy. You go to bed my queen." Tinsel ordered. "Yes dear." She smiled. Tinsel left the room and her smile fell. She sat back in her throne and sighed. "It's hard to fake, isn't it?" She heard. She jumped up and saw one guard in the room. "Why are you in here? You're dismissed!" She panicked. "I don't think so. I need to speak with you." He walked towards her. She raised an eyebrow. As he got closer, her eyes widened. "Stop!" She said. He did and she stood to walk to him. "What in the world are you doing here? You're supposed to be in Skip." She whispered. Presents smiled at her. "I know." he said. "Are you insane? You need to leave before Tinsel sees you. You're gonna get yourself killed." Peppermint said. "I need to talk to you first. Glitzy is in danger." He said. "What? How?" She asked. "She and Alpine are going to attend a Skip party, along with other Smot kids. She could be arrested." He warned. "I couldn't stop her if I wanted too. Unfortunately, she really acts a lot like Tinsel." Peppermint huffed. "I'm going to be at the party Minty, and I'm going to talk to her." Presents said. "What? You promised-" He cut her off. "I know what I said before, but this has gone too far. Especially since she's going to public school now. My sons and I will be there looking out for her." He said. "Your... sons?" Minty said sadly. "My wife died a while ago... but even she can't fill the hole you left in me Minty. Let me help you leave him. I know you're not happy." Presents said. "I can't!" She shook her head. "You're gonna look me in the eyes right now and tell me you love him?" He asked. Minty hesitated. "I love... my son." she clarified. "Then take him with you. You think I wouldn't care for Alpine too? Newsflash Minty, your kids are gay, and when Tinsel finds out, what do you think is gonna happen?" Presents asked. Peppermint was frozen. She didn't know what to say or do. "Here. These are my sons, Cookie and Tuffy. They're both more than happy to accept you as their new mom, and I would gladly take care of Alpine as if he were mine. So it's up to you Minty. You have to do something." He handed her a photo of his kids. She took it and her eyes softened. "You really think we can get it all back?" She asked. "I know we can, but it's up to you. Please Minty. You have to try." He begged. She stared at him for a minute. "You should go." She said softly. He sighed. "Ok... bye Minty." He walked away. 

-At the Skip Castle-

Frights was sitting in her throne, next to her moms in their thrones. She was laying on it sideways, kicking her feet, and smiling as she texted Dakota about the party. Potion was clueless to her daughter swooning over a phone, but Shadow had noticed. "Are you sure about going to this party?" Potion asked, since that was her only concern. "The party is tomorrow night mom. We've been over this a million times. Firecracker and Valor will be there. Everything will be fine." Frights said. "Yeah especially since she has a date." Shadow added. "Exactly! I-" Frights stopped and sat up in shock. "So my hunch was right. Who are you going with Frights?" Shadow asked. Potion was stunned. "I... uh- a boy?" Frights stuttered. "How come we haven't heard about this boy?" Potion asked. Frights shrugged. "I don't know." She lied. "What's his name?" Shadow asked. "Dakota. I met him at school." Frights looked down, embarrassed. "Well, you two have fun, but wear a condom." Shadow smirked. "Mom!" Frights exclaimed. The queens laughed.

"So you didn't tell them that he was a Smot?" Firecracker asked. "No. I couldn't tell them that! They'd freak out! I don't want them to see him just as a Smot. He's more than that." Frights said. "Why are you telling me? I know that. I met him before you." Firecracker said. Dakota texted Frights again. "He wants to have dinner tonight." Frights smiled. Firecracker sighed. "I'll cover for you. Go on." She said. "Thanks Fire! See you later!" Frights ran off. 

Frights met with Dakota and he took her hand in his. "Where are we going?" She asked. "You'll see. Here. Put this on." He gave her his hoodie. She laughed and put it on. He put his hood over her head and took her hand again. "Keep your head down. I can't have anyone recognizing you." He said. Frights nodded and looked down. He took her into Smot and all the way to his apartment. "Ok, you're good now." He said, and she took off the hood. "Dill is out till noon tomorrow. I already saw your side of town, so I figured you should see mine... from a safe distance." He said. Frights giggled. "Good call. You have a nice apartment." She said. "Thank you. Dill and I have been on our own for a while. So we try." He shrugged. "Wow. Id like to see Slush have the balls you have." Frights laughed. "What?" Dakota raised an eyebrow. "Slush? That popular guy in your class? He keeps trying to ask me out. It's kinda funny" Frights shrugged. There was a short silence and Frights turned to face Dakota. "You... picked me? Over him?" He asked shocked. She smiled at him. "You're more my speed." She winked. He smiled at her and walked to her. "You know no one gets picked over Slush, right?" He asked. Frights shrugged. "Sucks for him." She said. Dakota smiled and just stared at her for a minute. Frights stared back through the silence. "What are you waiting for an invite?" She asked with a laugh. Dakota nodded slightly. "Something like that." He wrapped his arms around her waist and leaned in to kiss her. She gladly kissed back and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. "I think I love you." Frights said. Dakota smiled and nodded. "Me too." He agreed.

Firecracker got a text later that night. Valor was falling asleep on duty and she was about ready to smack him awake. She checked her phone to see Frights text. "I just slept with Dakota-" She said. Firecracker sighed disappointingly. "You owe me a coke or I tell your mom." She sent back. "I'll get you a whole case." Frights replied. "Perfect. Now take a morning after pill." Firecracker responded. "Fuck you." Frights sent. Firecracker smiled and put her phone away. Then she smacked Valor. "Ah! I'm up!" He screamed. "Stay awake idiot. Just one more hour." She huffed. Valor groaned and leaned back against the wall.
