39 | HOMECOMING
NEON lights flashed everywhere, the music boomed through the speakers as the dance room was replenished with AK's and VK's. Everyone was dancing and having their fun.
The shouts of fun clashed with the sound of the music that played.
"Oh, I'm getting pumped!" The son of Rapunzel jumped up and down in enthusiasm. He could feel the music and adrenaline mixed with the blood that ran through his veins.
"Not too much now." Cassia came up behind him to pat his shoulder. A way to try and calm him.
Rolling his eyes, the boy walked away to get something to drink. Cassia turned back to look at Harry, whose eyes glanced everywhere around the huge venue. A small smile crept upon her lips, walking back to hold his hand.
"It's a lot, isn't it?" With her eyes scanning everything as well, Harry merely gave her a nod. "Do you wanna sit down? Want to drink something? Eat?"
"I say we sit down first. Then let the night take us in, aye?" Harry could tell how much Cassia wanted to make him feel comfortable. But as long as he was with her, he already was.
Nodding, the brunette followed as she was told and sat across one of the tables that were luckily empty. The rest of the group followed to leave their things, only to quickly leave the pair. Either to go get something to eat, drink, or toward the dance floor.
Cassia placed her hands on the front of her dress, while Harry manspreaded on his chair and allowed for his hand to fall onto his thigh. Slowly rubbing it on the material of his trousers up and down.
"I'm assuming you don't know where to actually start." Cassia leaned over to allow Harry to hear her through the loud music. He nodded. "Well, most people do actually start by sitting down."
The pirate chuckled looking down at his legs with a nod.
"Yeh, well maybe I could use a drink, eh?" As Harry turned his head to look at Cassia, the closeness of each other was evident.
Her breath got caught in her throat when she realized how near she was to Harry. But the pirate was only smirking at the contact because all he did was lean in and lean in and lean—
"You guys won't believe this!—" The voice of the well-known friend the pair shared appeared but stopped when he realized the moment he stopped.
Elliot stood with a small silver bottle, a clear navy blue cup in hand, and a wide smirk covering his lips.
"Am I... interrupting something here?" Teasing words disappeared from his lips.
Cassia was quick to think of words. "No." She cleared her throat pulling away to give her and Harry space. Space he didn't want. "What do you have there?"
The attention the pair carried was directed toward the silver bottle the son of Rapunzel held. He looked down at it before he spoke again.
"Ah, yeah. It's magic juice." Shaking the bottle, he glanced over toward his friends with a wicked smirk.
"Magic juice?" The pirate scrunched his nose confused, truly believing it could be magic juice. But the girl next to him knew exactly what her friend meant.
"He means alcohol." Raised eyebrows turned over toward Harry. "Where did you even get it from?"
"Shh. Don't worry." He drags his last syllable. "The question here is, do you guys want some? Never mind the question. You guys will definitely have some!" Elliot yelled through the loud music.
"Dude!" In an instant, the brunette stood up when she felt the plastic cup pushed to her chest.
Cassia wasn't able to finish her sentence before Elliot ran off to get them drinks. His image disappeared through the crowd, where everyone danced and stood talking.
"You're not actually going to drink alcohol are you?" She turned over to Harry, who had a toothy smile. A reaction toward the son of Rapunzel.
"Why shouldn't I?" Blue eyes shifted toward the brown ones of the girl. "Remember Cassie, live a little." Harry raised his eyebrows for a split second.
The girl glanced up at the pirate but not for long before the boy who had left returned with two other cups. Removing the cup from Cassia's grip, he replaced it with a new one.
"Trust me on this one." Elliot opened the silver bottle and placed an average amount of alcohol in each of their cups.
"You know, I'm not sure if I want to." The green-eyed male turned to face Cassia from her comment. He rolled his eyes knowing she was joking.
When the boy finished pouring the liquid on the girl's cup she brought it up to her nose, taking a sniff. The strong scent mixed with the sweetness of the punch.
"Is this tequila?" A question escaped. Though she didn't need Elliot to confirm it to her.
Instead, he ignored her question. "On the count of three." He glanced between his two friends. While the girl glanced between the two guys. "One... two... three."
She watched the boys chug their drinks without hesitation. Their throats bopping up and down as they allowed the liquid to go down their throat. And when she realized they were almost done, she blinked three times before she downed her drink.
The liquid ran down her throat, mixing with the sugar of the original drink was the burning feeling of the tequila. All she did was scowl from the feeling it caused her in her stomach.
"Come on guys. Go dance!" The voice of the boy rang through the pirate's and brunette's ears. "Warm up."
Harry turned to glance at Cassia, but she only slightly turned his way. Because she wasn't going to tell him no, after all, she didn't want to deflate him on his first dance in Auradon. Also, the fact that he did practice for her.
"Will yeh dance with me?" His hand came between the two. Waiting for it to be taken by the hand of the girl.
Her lips curled into a small smile as she took his hand with hers.
"I'd be honored." Not even waiting for an answer from the boy behind her, she took the lead and dragged him toward the dance floor.
Harry, lost, only looked at the girl ahead of him. His hand made sure to stay with hers by strengthening his grip on it. And by the time the two reached the floor, the lights turned a hue of dark blue mixed with red.
"Do you know how to dance?" Leaning toward his ear as much as she could, Cassia looked at Harry.
She didn't want to mention that she knew about the classes with Evie and Elliot. So she had to play dumb.
"Yes." This was his moment to shine.
