Oddly enough, there were none of the outside beasts within this area. No Desert Scorpion, no Giant Antlion, no Centipede, and none of these Giant Red Sand Tarantulas. In fact, everything down here seemed quite docile, even if the spiders they met were still far to big, but they had a good eyesight and had quickly determined that the strange visitors were rather difficult food.
The closer they had come the area that the map marked as EXIT over the past few days, the more Droplets in all forms and variations they met. Soon, Amoebias joined them, and some sparkling, unknown kind of True Slimes.
„What is this area?" she wondered and Lunaris looked to the ceiling, when suddenly, he heard a familiar sound.
A gentle, gurgling sound of splashing water.
He walked a bit ahead and the first thing he saw was the sun shining over an wide open area, filled with green plants of all kind. It looked like a small jungle, in the middle of the desert, hidden between the sand in the middle of nowhere. Pieces of stone pillars lay around, withered through the passing of time, and the white stone reflected the light in a gentle glimmer into the area.
They both stood stunned at the scenery they witnessed.
The fountain stood in the middle of this area, pouring water from the top into the three growing, circular sections, before it flowed into the square basin. The water splashed through a small nudge in the middle of every side of the basin into a canal, where it was dispersed evenly into the area.
Nerivie watched in awe, as the birds sung in the crowns of the large trees, and all kinds of small droplets of all kinds and colours gathered in the wild flowers and grass.
It's been a while I saw so many of these cute type of slimes hanging around in one area! She thought for herself, looking at the round, jellylike creatures with button-like eyes and cheeks she wanted to pinch so badly.
Sometimes, an Amoebias just floated by, as these lived mainly in the water or at least very close to it. While these creatures helped Lunaris to control and cure Nerivie's fever some month ago, he never thought they would actually be more water like, and have a huge nucleus inside them.
What a strange animal! He thought to himself.
Nerivie, out of an impulse, suddenly clung to the sleeve of Lunaris, with wide eyes.
She had spotted him.
Never, in her whole life, would she ever thought to see one of these rare creatures. Actually, she thought they were some kid's joke that managed it's way into the „Animalis Encyclopedia"- a book, that described most of the animals and beasts of the continent.
Lunaris looked to her, then where she had her eyes fixiated at: there, in the far background, easily to miss if you just wandered in, was something glittering. And on top of it sat a large, perculiar droplet, greenish blue, with iridescent scales, reflecting the light in all colours of the rainbow. His tail twitched on what seems to be a hoard of gold coins, and artefacts from a forgotten time, having some of them roll down to the bottom. The ears twitched at that sound, but there was nothing around him that would even dare to try to ursop his throne. This was, indeed, the most perculiar slime.
Actually, it was more of a slime, since the only form droples can have is round, because even if they are firmer in consistency than Amoebius, they are still soft, and cannot be something else than round.
Slimes are firm enough to shapeshift into any form they like: dice, crystal, round, like a cat, a mouse- any form that matches the environment or personality.
However, rarely do they grow large, and rarely do they involve into a squishy dragon.
„I can't believe it!" she whispered, „A dragon slime!"
