It took a whole week of meticulously monitoring her body temperature, going back and forth between the libary and trying out a lot of things to keep the fever down, to only have it stabilize on the same level for most of the time.

Lunaris had been feeding her some watered down porridge and had her drink juices whenever she was aware enough to swallow, washed her when she was too sweaty, and took care of her the best he could.

He was laying on the matress with his upper body alone, exchausted, worried beyond belief, and with no clue left what else to do.

Maybe, he thought, it's a good idea to seek out help at the temple. They are the ones that tested for my light affiliation. And this was connected to healing. They might know.

He got himself up, slowly and clearly sleep-deprived,and looked at Nerivie. Her condition at least didn't worsen over the course of the last two days. If it wasn't for the fever, He would assume she was on the way to get better. He grabbed the notebook he got himself for communication during the week from a local merchant, since he ran out of paper on the note pad, and a proper pen that did not need sharpened.

Making sure the what must have been now countless Amoebias still had the right temperature for a while, he left the room with a look filled with anxiety and worry before he closed the door.

The priest from his affiliation test had waited, until he was done writing it all down. He did not asked why he could not just talk and wrote instead. The old man also accomidated the way Lunaris communicated by asking him a lot of questions, and gave him time to write the answers down as meticulous as possible.

The symptoms she had.

The things he tried.

Changes Lunaris noticed.

When he mentioned the layers over layers of scars all over her body, the priest's eyebrows furrowed and he nodded: „Are these scars deep?"

Lunaris showed the priest that he doesn't know, but some of them were thick, and large, and the one on her chest certainly went deep.

„Well," the priest said, tapping his chin, „it sounds like a disturbance of mana inside her. Normally, the physical body doesn't affect the spiritual one, but with a wound that cut so deep, and assuming it was cut with a weapon that was created to destroy, or even eliminate the flow of that spiritual energy, it can lead to devastating effect of the spiritual form to the physical one."

How do I help her? Lunaris ask in writing.

„This is going to be a long procedure." The priest started and lead him into a hall, that smelled like herbs and medicine. „I already gave you a book to learn your skill. Have you already aquired the most basic form?"

Lunaris nodded, unsure if it was enough, but seemingly with no efford produced a light ball from his hand.

„A good form, and in such a short time, too. You really surprise me. While that won't heal anybody directly, it can be applied as part of the medicine you need to make for her. I am going to show you how it's done."

Lunaris used a whole page to write Thank you so much! and bowed down while holding it up.

The priest smiled: „Don't worry, my child. I can see she is important to you. You don't need to serve the goddess as I do to follow the goddess' path."

**

Lunaris never wrote down so many notes like this before. Scribbled and sketched down the process, and each and every step. The good news was that he didn't need specific plants to create it, they just needed specific properties, like surpressing fever or being anti-inflammatory. The bad news was, that the salve needed to be applied daily, directly on the scars.

He didn't want to embaress her by letting her know he saw what she tried to hide. Because, at this point, he was very sure what curse she tried to hide. And he understood. Oh, how much he understood...

How you are gonna do that, and also make sure she takes it daily? You can't exactly say: I saw you half- naked with all your scars, which are not an issue for me. Because clearly, they are an issue and maybe even the worst memory for her.

Well, at the moment, all he could do was make sure she got better first. Then, he would just see. Maybe, try to pretent you didn't see and just lie? No. That's not good either.

The last step was applying his magic, his basic form into the salve and the prepared tea. The priest watched satisfied as Lunaris followed his instruction doing so: „And this is how it's done. If you need aynthing else, let me know. The temples all over the world are here to help you on your journey. As mentioned, there are more ways to serve the Great Goddess, and if you choosea path seperate from us, we truly understand and will support you. May all the blessings follow you!"

Lunaris held his breath and bowed down. He was truly thankful to have learnt how to help his lady.
