Chapter one

Friday

A night of celebrating

Bit spicy

Siobhan's POV

It's been a busy week; I have been planning the celebration meal for my wife, she has been promoted to Matron in work, after weeks of waiting she got the phone call on Monday, so, that gave me all week to plan the celebration. I love cooking so I was happy to make a meal for our family and friends. We had finished eating and the drinks were flowing, I nodded to Jamie, and he went and got the bottle of champagne that had been chilling all day. I stood up to speak.

"I would like to say Congratulations to my wife, on her promotion to Matron, I know she has worked hard over the years, to get where she is today, the last few weeks have been the most stressful waiting to hear if she got the job, the sleepless nights... It's been years since we had sleepless nights, it took me back to when our twins Luis and Courtney where babies and kept us awake. I'm proud of my wife and I love you with all my heart and here's to the future" Jamie had opened the champagne and was passing glasses around to everyone.

I go to sit down, and Vivian stands up, she takes my hand, kisses me on the cheek then wraps her arm around my waist and pulls me in to her, then turns to our friends and family, we are sat at the top of the table, our twins Luis and Courtney are sat either side of us, Jamie and his wife Emma are sat next to Luis, Emma is 8 and a half months pregnant, Viv and I are looking forward to becoming grandparents, also here are Marjorie and Reece, they now have 4 children 3 girls and a boy the girls run rings around poor Reece all four are teenagers, Autumn and Winter have 3 children, they were sat together, Charlotte and Mia have 4 children including Charlotte's two girls from her first marriage, Carly is now married to a lovely young man called Chris and she is pregnant with their first child, and Sorcha and Clodagh have 2 children Quinn who is away at university studying Adult Nursing, Aoife is the same age as the twins.

Viv clears her throat "I would like to say thank you to my beautiful wife for arranging this celebration, she has spent this week planning the menu for tonight and gave me a few sleepless nights too, I had to use my powers of persuasion to come to bed Viv winks as she said that I immediately blush, she has been cooking up a storm all day today and the meal has been wonderful, but there is something I have been wanting to do for the last few weeks but the time hasn't felt right until now. Bon-Bon, 15 years ago we eloped with Jamie and my mum, and we got married and I know you have always wanted a proper wedding so I was wondering if you would marry me again?" Viv was down on one knee and had an engagement ring, I bent down and cupped Viv's head in my hands and replied "Yes Vivi I would love to marry you again"

She stood up and kissed me, I could hear everyone cheering and clapping the loudest being Marjorie. Then Jamie put the music back on, starting with Lenny Kravitz "Are you gonna go my way" this was the second song Viv I danced to at our wedding reception that Marjorie put together at the last minute 15 years ago. I love rock and Grunge music from the early 90's, which always surprises everyone when they find out as they assume I listen to classical music.

The rest of the evening was wonderful, the life and soul of the party was Marjorie and Reece they danced the whole night to the embarrassment of their 4 children especially when they slow danced, over the years they have become our closest friends, they live next door to us, our children have grown up together, I'm blessed to call Marjorie my best and closet friend she has never changed, she will stand up and protect anyone she loves and is fiercely loyal and a hopeless romantic, Reece is just the same and has always been there for us. He is Viv's best friend, they go to the pub and watch the football we have an executive box at Anfield and he and Viv are up there for every home Liverpool match, he has been a great influence on our sons Jamie and Luis as they don't have a father figure so Reece stood up to the plate.
