Waiting for news

Siobhan's POV

I was sitting in the kitchen with Charlotte, we were chatting over a cup of tea, she was there for me when Courtney was in hospital when she tried to kill herself, she seems to be the person I turn too when things like this happen, after about another hour I hear the front door open, and Viv calls out "Hey babe are you home?

"We are in the kitchen" replied

Viv walked in with Courtney and Grace, Courtney immediately came over to me and sat on my knee and snuggled into me.

Viv said "She has been wanting to do that for ages, I wasn't comfortable enough at the hospital, all she wanted was her momma" Viv put her arm around Grace.

"Are you okay Grace?" I asked

"Yes, I'm okay my mum is on her away to pick me up"

"Would you like a cup of tea whilst you are waiting?"

"Yes please"

Charlotte had got up and put the kettle on to make a fresh pot of tea.

"Grace this is Charlotte she is the manager of one of the nurseries we own, she is an old family friend and Courtney's other god mother"

"Hi Charlotte, it's nice to meet you I'm Grace, Courtney's

"So, you captured the heart of my god daughter?"

"Yes" Grace replied

"Well, when Courtney is ready you can both come for tea, as you must pass the Aunty Mia test" she added

"And the Aunt Marji test" Courtney mumbled

We all laughed.

Courtney would not leave my lap; she held me tight there was a knock at the door, Viv went to answer it, then Viv walked through to the kitchen with Jen, Grace's mum, she about the same height as Viv, red hair in a short bob, green eyes, dressed in jeans, t-shirt and jacket

"Hi, I'm Jen it's nice to finally meet you, Courtney has told me so much about you both"

"Hello, I replied, this is Charlotte, she is a good friend of the family, would you like a cup of tea?" I asked

"Yes please, how are you, Courtney?" she asked

Courtney turned her head and looked at Jen, the bruising had started to come out now, and one of her eyes had swollen shut as well

"I'm in a lot of pain, but I feel okay"

"The boy has been arrested and is being held by the police" I tell Jen

"My husband is a police officer, he arrested him and took him to the station, he can't tell me anything else, but from what I have heard from other parents he has tried this before and in his previous school as well"

"You have a lovely house Siobhan and Viv"

"Thank you, we decided this was our forever home when we bought it" I replied

We sat and chatted for a bit longer, I could feel Courtney start to fall asleep on my lap

"Excuse me a minute, I think someone wants to sleep" I stood up and carried Courtney upstairs to her room, Grace followed me, as I settled her to bed, she woke up so I moved and let Grace cuddle her "I will leave the door open, come down when Courtney has settled back asleep"

I went back downstairs and walked through to the kitchen, I could hear Viv and Jen chatting about general things, work, school etc. I entered the kitchen and noticed Charlotte had left, Viv said "Charlotte has gone home, she said she will see you in the office tomorrow"
