Girls Night out

Siobhan POV

Friday had finally rolled around, it had been a tough week, with Courtney being attacked, and Roger contacting me whilst he was on the run, he has been captured again, I spoke with the police about him raping me when we were together, although it happened 15 years ago, it will go against him as a danger to women so it's highly unlikely that he will ever be released from prison. The police have informed us that they are looking for Janice as it seems she helped him escape from the open prison he was in. Courtney is at Grace's for the weekend, so tonight I'm going for a few drinks with Marjorie and Charlotte, Viv suggested that she drives me and Marjorie into work, Charlotte is working from Marjorie's nursery today, so we will all get changed then head out to the bar. We spend the day updating the system and all relevant information for all the children across the three nurseries it's a job we have all been putting off, we go through the applicants for manager and deputy manager for the new Autism center we are building, and we look at the applicants for the manager for the third nursery as the current manager is due to leave, one name jumps out of the applicants Sorcha, she has finally applied for a job that was rightfully her's a year ago, but she decided to withdraw her application. I look over to Marjorie and Charlotte. "I think we won't interview for the manager's position at the third nursery" They both look at me, "Why won't we, has the manager changed their mind?" asked Marjorie

"No, even better" I handed her Sorcha's application Marjorie immediately smiled

"I have gone through the other applications and there is nobody suitable, or experienced so I will offer Sorcha the job today and we can get everything in place for her to takeover in a months' time"

Charlotte was already up and out of the office and going to the toddler room to grab Sorcha. As they walked into the office Sorcha was protesting, about being taken from the room that they were about to start an activity, Charlotte shushed her and said "Just get in the office, Marjorie and Siobhan really need to talk to you"

We were both trying to keep our faces straight, they walked into the office "Sorcha please take a seat, the reason Charlotte has brought you in, is that we received your application for the manager's position for the third nursery, and we would like to offer it to you, effective immediately. This job was yours last year when the position became vacant, and although we understood the reasons why you withdrew your application, we were disappointed, so to see it here again, we are more than happy and hope you accept the offer"

It was the first time I had seen Sorcha lost for words, she just sat there, then Marjorie and Charlotte said "Well" at the same time.

"Err yeah God of course I will accept the offer, thank you ... I will have to ring Clodagh"

"Your contract will be ready for you on Monday morning, then we will have you working alongside Charlotte and Marjorie for a few weeks so you can learn the ropes and be ready to take over at the nursery, then whilst you are settling in, I will work from there for the first few weeks"

"Okay, great and thank you again" replied Sorcha

By 4pm we had updated everything we were just having a coffee and chatting between the three of us.

"How is Courtney?" asked Charlotte

"She's doing great, she is staying at Grace's this weekend, she is going to a family party with them, so me and Viv are spending the weekend with Luis, he has been pushed into the background this week."

"I chatted with him the other night when he was with Reece and Eli, he understood why you and Viv were spending all your time with Courtney, he was still upset about what happened he felt so helpless, I reassured him"

"Thank you, Marjorie, I did try saying that to him, but I could tell he didn't quite believe me, but to hear it from you will re-enforce what I told him, now if we are all done for

the day, I think we should get ready to go and have our night out"

"That sounds like a great idea, I have been looking forward to relaxing and not having to deal with all 5 kids" replied Marjorie

"I'm the same, Mia with the girls can be quite a handful" she laughed

"Why is it we have all ended up with spouses we must treat like children at times?" I laughed

"We have left those adult children in charge tonight" replied Marjorie

We looked at each other started laughing then went to get changed, I jumped in the shower and freshened up, I decided to put my hair up for a change, I reapplied my make-up, I opted for skinny black jeans, white shirt that I tied at the waist and wedge shoes, somehow I had managed to match my outfit with both Marjorie and Charlotte as they were both dressed similarly to me, when we stood in Marjorie's office we laughed at how we had matched our outfits.

I ordered the taxi, and it was here within a few minutes, we got to the bar, ordered the first round of drinks which we decided would be a jug of beer, after we finished that we ordered more beer and 3 cheeseburgers and chips, the drinks were flowing and the three of us finally relaxed.

It was around 6pm when I looked at my phone, there was a message from Viv

V- Hiya Babe, just a quick message to say hope you have a great time tonight, you need to relax, and don't worry about me and Luis, we are rewatching Liverpool matches for the evening and ordering a takeaway. Love you my Bon-Bon.

Along with the message was a picture of Viv and Luis, sitting in the living room in matching Liverpool fc pj's drinking "beer" and eating their takeaway.

I smiled at the picture then put my phone away, I noticed Marjorie had gone to the bar, she came back with a tray of shots. "They have an offer on, I thought why not, it's usually the adult kids that get shitfaced, think it's about time we did"

"But Majorie you and Charlotte both have a low tolerance for alcohol"

"I don't care, we need to let loose, come on Siobhan"

The tray of shots was gone in seconds followed by more beer, by 11pm we were all fall down drunk, and laughing Charlotte had disappeared to the toilet about 10 minutes ago, I went to look for her and found her dancing to "Uptown Funk" by Bruno Mars with a group of strangers, she spotted me and pulled me onto the dance floor, I started dancing, then Marjorie wandered past so I grabbed her and she started dancing, we hadn't realized that Jamie was in the bar too, he had met up with some friends to celebrate becoming a dad, he spotted me, I was suddenly aware of him next to me on the dance floor.

"Hey momma"

"Heeeyyyyyy Jamie, my oldest boy how are you?" I draped my arms around him

"Momma you are drunk?"

"Yes Iam, I'm out with Aunty Marjorie and Aunty Charlotte we have had a few beers and a lot of shots" I replied

"You made me a nan, I'm too young to be a nan.... How is my grandson? "

Jamie was trying not to laugh "Momma I think you Aunty Marjorie and Aunty Charlotte should head home"

I could see he was getting his phone out to ring a taxi, then he rang rand Viv I could hear him say he will get the three of us in the taxi and bring us home.
