"I don't think he's a vampire" Daou called back to his father

"What makes you think that?"  his father asked

"He saw a wound with blood and his eyes didn't turn red or grow fangs" Daou thought about his wound that Offroad treated "He's also full of joy and too strange to be a vampire" Daou thought but didn't say

"Was the wound not fresh or contaminated?"

"Maybe"

"So it won't affect them that much, try a fresh wound and try to injure him and see if it bleeds...oh and they also usually eat a lot because they need a lot of energy"

"Ok"

"Bye" his father hung up

Daou returned to see that Offroad had finished both of their dishes

"Did you eat both of them alone??"  Daou asked in awe

"I was hungry" Offroad licked his lips

"They also usually eat a lot" Daou recalled his father's words

"Do you want an apple?"  Daou tried to check the first thing his father said

"Yeah" Offroad nodded enthusiastically

Daou took an apple and cut it and 'accidentally' cut his hand a little too

"Shia" Daou showed him the wound and checked his reaction

"I can't see it" Offroad turned his head

"But you treated my shoulder wound" Daou started to get suspicious

"I can see old wounds but new blood is too red and too liquid I can't see it" Offroad shook his head

"Ok I'm going to get me a Band-Aid I'll be right back" Daou moved towards the bathroom to check the third and last sign

He took a plaster and a sharp pin from the cabinet above the sink

When he left the bathroom he closed the door and put the pin behind the handle where they wouldn't see but would be injured if they opened the door

He went back to the table and opened the plaster but crumpled it when Offroad didn't see

"Oh Shia it's ruined" Daou put the ruined band-aid aside "Can you get me another band-aid it's in the bathroom in the cabinet?"  he asked Offroad

Offroad nodded and got up to get it

He opened the door to the bathroom and went inside

Daou saw that he didn't even react to the pain of the pin and turned pale

"Oh, your band-aids are really cute compared to a tough guy like you" Offroad laughed and left with a band-aid with dinosaurs on it

He went over to Daou and brought it to him

"Thank you" Daou was still shocked

"Are you okay?"  Offroad asked when he saw how pale he was

"Yes" Daou had to come to his senses before Offroad became suspicious

"Are you not feeling well? Want me to take you to bed?"  Offroad went up to him and tried to touch him to pick him up but Daou moved away from him

"I'm fine, I'll go to sleep" Daou got up to the room and locked himself in there

"He looks so innocent and harmless" Daou walked in circles in his room "I have to tell my dad he's a vampire" he took out the phone but couldn't dial the number

He knew that if he told his father, he would kill Offroad without a second thought, but Offroad didn't seem to him to be harmful

"I just need to find out a little more" Daou decided and put the phone aside
