Y/N POV

A loud thud startled me awake in the early morning hours of Christmas Eve. To my left Ominis was still asleep, but the right side of the bed was cold like it had been empty for hours.

I slid out of the covers and into a robe sneaking out the bedroom door. Just before i was about to close it behind me I heard another loud bang with a chorus of muffled curse words. I cringed my face and peaked in through the crack but Ominis thankfully, still hadn't budged. I closed the door softly and padded down the stairs getting hit with icy cold air as I rounded the landing.

"What the bloody hell are you doing?" I say just above a whisper tightening my robe around me to trying to protect myself from the freezing breeze he was letting inside.

He let out a grunt "i could use some help."

"Could you now?" I raised a brow, amused by the sight I was looking at. He'd managed to get himself wedged in our tiny foyer between the wall and an enormous freshly cut Christmas tree that he'd only gotten halfway into the door before running out of room and inevitably getting both it and himself stuck.

"What in Merlin's name possessed you to think a tree that large would fit in here?" I asked folding my arms across my chest receiving a scowl in return.

"Fine, don't help." He grumbles trying to shove the three through the narrow casing of the living room again to prove a point with no avail.

I watched a moment longer before he finally stopped and looked up at me in defeat once more. I cast reducio instantly shrinking the tree to an appropriate size for our home and then the levitation spell, floating it with ease into the living room. "Show off." Sebastian mutters closing the front door as I walk past him with a smug look of satisfaction on my face and then arched onto my tip toes kissing his cheek passingly.

"What's with the tree? We don't even have furniture yet." I chuckle silently walking into the living room, hands on my hips assessing the rooms bareness.

He rubbed the back of his neck with a sigh "I don't know, it's just- you guys did the whole art studio thing for me and I felt like I needed to do something back...and Ominis always talks about how he loved the holidays at Hogwarts because it smells like Christmas trees and he never had one growing up so I just thought ..."

My heart instantly melted at his explanation. "You are a kind and thoughtful soul Sebastian Sallow." I say wrapping my arms around his neck looking up at him with adoration. "Perhaps not the most practical man, but always good intentions." I add with a smirk before pulling him in for a kiss which he returned with fervor.

I broke the kiss after a moment and narrowed my eyes "where did you even find a tree the day before Christmas? I'd assume all the lots would be picked over by now." I say walking over to it fluffing its branches up.

"The what?" He asked with a cocked brow of confusion.

"The Christmas tree lots, you know? Where you purchase Christmas trees?" I press getting nothing but a vacant stare in return.  I closed my eyes and pressed my lips in a firm line nodding in realization."You didn't buy the tree..."

"Why on earth would I pay for a tree?! they grow outside?!" He shouted like I was the ridiculous one in this situation.

I laughed in disbelief "Sebastian! You can't cut down a tree without a license."

"And how the bloody hell am I suppose to know that!? There were no signs that said hey, don't take this tree even though it would make a fine Christmas trees! Honestly...You two move me out into a strange muggle city filled with all kinds of rules and just expect me to know how things work day one?" He quipped back sarcastically.

"Do you two ever just start the morning with a nice cup of coffee and a calm conversation?" I heard Ominis chime in from the landing catching both of our attention pulling us out of yet another one of our spats.

He walked through the narrow hall barefoot letting out a hiss "ow, fuck. What's all over the floor? Did someone wrestle a porcupine in the foyer?"

"Pine needles." I say back as he plucks one out of the bottom of his foot and walked more cautiously towards us to avoid anymore.

He took a deep breath in through his nose and his irritation from the prick on his foot instantly faded into a smile "is that a...Christmas trees?"

"Certainly is, Seb went and cut it down for you this morning." I replied as he walked closer to the tree, I couldn't help but smile at his wholesome reaction.

"Sebastian, you can't cut down a tree without a license." He said matter of factly as he ran his hand over the branches with a content expression and I gave Sebastian an I told you so look.

"How the fuck do you know that? No seriously! I get why she knows that, bloody know it all, but why am I the only one who doesn't know these absurd muggle laws?! I mean who are they to say who can and can't cut down a tree. It's a fucking tree!" Sebastian shouts growing flustered again and I couldn't help but laugh, he was just so easy to rile up.

"I've never had a tree of my own..." Ominis muttered softly cutting off Sebastian's rant. "We need to decorate it" he added, waiving his wand in front of the tree adorning each branch with warm white twinkle lights.

I stepped forwards with a smile and conjured a fragrant garland of cinnamon sticks and dried orange slices that complemented the smell of the evergreen. I thought it was a nice touch so that Ominis, even though he couldn't see the decorations, could still enjoy them.

Sebastian smiled as well as he watched us work "I'll be right back." He said rushing up the stairs clearly with an idea on his mind. As quickly as he had bounded up the stairs he came back down holding a photo album in his hands. He opened it up and muttered a spell sending little photographs flicking through the air attaching themselves with tiny twine bows to the branches like ornaments.

I stepped closer to examine them, each one a different moving photo of the three of us over the last 2 years we'd known each other. "Oh Seb that's beautiful" I acknowledged taking in the sight of the tree we'd created together, the perfect tree for our perfect little family.

"It's all pictures of us, Sebastian turned them into ornaments." I explain giving Ominis hand a little squeeze. Sebastian came up behind wrapping an arm around each of us planting a small kiss on both our temples. We stood there admiring the tree for another moment and then Sebastian went to make us all some breakfast.

"I think we're all going to be very happy here after graduation." Ominis said softly pulling my hand up to his lips brushing a small kiss over my knuckles.

"Me too Omi....me too." I replied my heart full of so much love and contentment as I got a small glimpse into the future life I was creating with the two people I loved most in this world.
