Hey guys I changed the name of Marley's dad to Chris :) just letting you know so it isn't confusing

Callum

I ran into her on purpose.

I saw her walking across the parking lot and I took it as my opportunity. A completely wasted opportunity, because she's an asshole.

You might as well put a big yellow sign on her that says 'Warning, do not let the pretty face fool you.'

"Where's your head at?" Niall asks me as he rubs deodorant under his arms. "You haven't said a word all practice."

"And that's a record for you," Finley chimes in playfully.

I scrunch my nose and flick him off before turning back to Niall. "You know that American?"

"The hot one?" He leans against his locker.

I scoff "Yeah. Well don't let her looks fool you because that girl is not pretty on the inside."

"Uh oh," Finley chimes in. "Does Callum actually not like someone?"

Niall snickers, taking a bite out of his protein bar. "She has to be bad for you to not like her."

"She is," I pull my jumper over my head and straighten it out. "An absolute scab."

"Oh come on," Finley laughs "I'm sure the two of you will be best buds by the end of the term."

"I highly doubt it." I narrow my eyes at him "because I'm avoiding that girl at all costs."

Him and Niall eye each other, and I can already smell the bet conversation coming up. They always do this. Everything to them is a way to make money, and sometimes it concerns me, because one of these days I'm scared I might see my two friends swinging on a pole half naked.

"Wanna bet?" Niall smirks and picks up his t-shirt.

"I do." I nod and speak confidently, "because this is a bet I'm sure I'll win."

"Really?" Finley chuckles.

"One hundred and two percent."

"Alright Lynchy," Niall turns to face me. "I bet twenty euro that you and Marley Anderson will be two peas in a pod by the end of the term."

"You know her name?" I ask confused.

"Of course we do," Finley smiles smugly "because Tierny and Keely are best friends with her now."

You've got to be fucking with me.

Oh who am I kidding, I should've known I'd be seeing a lot of that girl as soon as the cheerful redhead I've been friends with since primary school walked up to her.

"Okay fine," I pick up my school bag. "Twenty euro that Marley and I will never ever be friends."

This is a joke.

My entire life is a fucking joke.

Someone up above must seriously hate me, because somehow I now find myself sitting in the living room of the one person I'm trying to avoid.

I'd know it's her living room because I watched her storm up the stairs only moments after I walked inside.

And now, here I am, eating dinner at her house and chatting it up with her older brother and her dad.

"Have you thought about playing any sports here?" Dad asks Brody, leaning forward and resting his elbows against his knees.

I could tell from the moment I laid eyes on Brody that Dad was going to try and recruit him. It was a given from the kids muscles and tall body.

"I mean I'm not against it," Brody shrugs. "I don't really know the rules though."

My entire attention span turns away from the conversation as soon I hear movement on the stairs.

Marley.

I watch as the blonde girl walks into the living room, her eyes immediately landing on me. Her entire face expression changes and we both sit there completely still, just staring at each other.

"There she is," her dad smiles and squeezes her shoulders, but her eyes just remain on me.

Those fucking eyes.

"Marley, this is the Lynch family." Chris says, and as he goes around and introduces her to each one of my family members, my eyes stay locked on her.

Why does she have to be so...perfect looking?

"And this is Callum," he gets to me, and we don't shake hands like she did with the rest of my family.

Instead she crosses her arms and glares at me. "Yeah we've met."

I narrow my eyes at her, keeping my back against the sofa and my legs lazily manspreaded apart. I wish I could tell her to fuck off or something right here, but I know my dad would smack me across the head for speaking to a girl like that.

"Okay..." Chris catches onto the tension and quickly changes the subject. "Let's eat, yeah?"

Moments later we're all sat at the wooden dining table. Everyone around me is laughing and talking, except for Marley. Neither of us say a word. Occasionally we will glance at each other, usually with hard eyes.

There's something about her. And I don't mean something good that I want to dig and find out about, because I don't. I want nothing to do with her.

I mean something...I don't even know how to explain it. It's like I'm staring at a soulless person whenever we make eye contact. Her eyes are completely lifeless, the only light in them being the mirroring of the kitchen lights.

She's hardly even touched her food, and when she isn't glaring at me or someone else at the table, she's just staring. Staring at the table, at the wall, at the floor.

"So Marley I hear you're a good runner," Mam says, earning the attention from the cold girl.

"I wouldn't say good," she smiles slightly as she jokes. "But I enjoy it."

"You know, Tommen has a good track team." Dad adds.

"Really?" Marley seems to light up.

He nods "Yeah. I know they could use some runners too."

She looks over at her dad, her eyes seeming to be brighter than usual. He smiles at her and her lips slightly turn up.

This girl is really confusing.

I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter because I'm not sure how I feel about it lol.

I think the hills might be my favorite song right now to be honest. I know it's kind of freak-a-licious, but it's just so catchy.
