Callum
Marley and I are both seated on her bed. The grinch plays on her tv in the background because she insisted on watching it since Christmas is only two days away. Her body is pressed into my side, with her arm draped across my stomach, and her legs intertwined with mine.
"Callum?" She questions after at least twenty minutes of neither of us saying anything.
"Hm?" I mindlessly trace my fingers up and down her arm.
"What are we?" Marley sits up and folds her knees under her body, staring down at me.
I let my hand that was previously on her arm fall to where her leg is just in reach, and hold eye contact with her.
Her words make my heart flutter, because does that mean she wants us to be something? Something more than friends. I mean yeah, I did have that whole little love confession in the Biddies car park, but I just thought maybe she didn't feel the same way. Or maybe she does, but she just isn't ready.
"I mean like...are we friends or..."
I chuckle slightly and my fingers rub circles on her thigh, "Babe, we were never friends."
She smiles and looks down at my hand on her leg before I speak up again.
"Marley?"
"Hm?"
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
A smile breaks out on her face. A real smile. That's rare with her, I've noticed. A lot of the times they're fake, or they just aren't very big. Not this time though.
"Only if you'll be my boyfriend." She replies as she moves on top of me, laying herself down and propping her head up on her hands.
I tuck a piece of her hair behind her ear. "Gladly."

"Mam?" I question, walking into the house.
"In the sitting room," she calls out.
I follow her voice to the sitting room, and when I turn the corner I see Johnny and Shannon on the couch next to Mam and dad.
"Oh hey," I say, sitting down too. "When did you guys get here?"
"Whenever you were at your girlfriend's house," Johnny snickers.
"What?" I look over at Mam and dad.
"Oh come on Callum," Mam chuckles, "you're always at Marley's, when are you going to admit it?"
"Well in that case..." I rub the back of my neck. "We're together."
"Bout time," Johnny adds.
"Wait," Shannon interjects, "didn't you and the girl hate each other?"
If they ask how we went from hating each other to now, I might just have to leave the room. I can't tell my family we hooked up and then realized we had feelings for each other. My mam would kick me across the head!
"We didn't actually hate each other." Well...kind of. We were just temporarily mad at one another. "We just had a rocky first meeting."
"And second...and third...and fourth." Dad says.
I rub my nose with my middle finger towards him and he laughs. Luckily, mam doesn't notice.
It's crazy that I'm sitting here, with my family, talking about Marley and I being together. If you would have told me that only four months ago, I'd laugh in your face.
And knowing Marley, she'd probably punch you.
For the next few hours, my family and I sit there talking about life. That is until Kennedy and Flynn come running in and arguing about whether Jesse and Woody got together, or Woody and Little Bow Peep.
