Meanwhile, Namjoon sat outside Jimin's office, impatiently tapping his foot as he waited.
The secretary had mentioned that, for the past few weeks, Jimin hadn't shown up on Friday mornings, leaving Namjoon stunned. He'd asked if the secretary knew where Jimin was going, but no one had a clue.
All they knew was that Jimin wouldn't be back until close to lunchtime, probably not before 11:30.
Namjoon sighed. *Where the hell does he keep disappearing to?* He figured he might as well kill time by reading his favorite book, *Damian*.
Settling into a chair with a perfect view of the city, he soaked in the natural light. *At least no one can tell me off for this. Got Mr. Bae's permission after all.*
** Across town**
Jimin was wolfing down a sandwich you served him when someone walked into the café. Someone he hadn't seen in years. Someone he never expected to run into here.
The man sat at the table next to Jimin's. Instantly, Jimin's heart raced. Without missing a beat, he grabbed the menu and held it in front of his face.
*FUCK. Not that we're on bad terms... but I can't let him blow my cover.*
Meanwhile, you were setting up a tray for one of the servers when you noticed the new customer. After finishing the tray, you walked over to his table, handing him a menu.
"Good morning, sir. Here you go." He looked up, smiled at you, and thanked you softly. It caught you completely off guard—left your heart racing. *That smile though...*
His smile was one of the most beautiful you'd ever seen. *How's it even possible for someone to have a smile like that?* you wondered.
*Maybe it's true, what they say—the best outfit anyone can wear is a smile.* You headed back to the counter, where Jin was waiting to give you more tasks.
** Ten minutes later... **
Jin had asked you to make matcha pancakes while he prepped a tray with cappuccinos and brownies for another waitress to serve.
He'd overheard you telling a colleague that you hadn't eaten breakfast and were starving.
"Y/N," Jin called.
You turned to respond but didn't get the chance to say anything before he popped a slice of apple into your mouth.
"Skipping breakfast isn't healthy," he teased, with a grin.
You tried to thank him, but your mouth was full, so you gestured with your hands instead.
He winked. "Don't mention it. I left a tray in the staff room for you—consider it an early coffee break."
You finished making the pancakes Jin had asked for but let him do the final plating since that was his specialty. Meanwhile, Jimin was scrolling through work messages when his phone lit up with a call from Suzy.
*Ugh, not her again.* He ignored the call and set his phone on silent. He definitely wasn't in the mood for her voice. He looked back to where you had been, but you were gone.
He sighed and checked the time. *24 missed calls?! She's lost it.* Reluctantly, he texted her back. "What do you want?"
Suzy's annoying reply came almost instantly. "Babe, where are you? Namjoon's been waiting at your office forever!"
