Chapter 6

Alexis wasn't plagued by nightmares that night, her dreams were filled with Mattheo's lips on hers. She woke with the memory of that dark corner, still feeling the touch of his hands on her skin. She sat in front of the mirror looking at herself. She couldn't quite figure out why but something was different. She did her best to hide the obvious hand prints on her hips and arms from the other girls. She finally made her way down to see the boys waiting.

They were definitely giving Mattheo a hard time. They stopped talking when she approached but the cheeky grins stayed present. She shook her head at them as Mattheo stood up and kissed her. Not as all-consuming as the one the night before but passionate enough to leave her blushing.

He took her hand as they headed to breakfast. They were finally getting to go to Hogsmeade and couldn't contain their excitement. Alexis was dying for some sweets. They ate as quickly as possible before heading out down the path to town.

"So first stop butterbeer right?" Enzo asked as they made their way down the winding path. Alex glared at him, they all knew she wanted to get to Honeyduke's first. He winked, giving her hair a tug as he ran off with Alex right on his heels cursing at him.

"You know you have your hands full there, right?" Theo teased giving Mattheo a friendly shove. He shoved back laughing, "You don't know the half of it." They smiled running to save Enzo from Alex. They almost made it but Alex got a punch in the right place to give Enzo a dead leg.

"I'm sorry where is our first stop again?" she questioned playfully. The other boys helped him up and he held up his hands in surrender, "Honeyduke's, ok just don't hit me anymore."

He rubbed his thigh as they continued laughing and talking about everything they could get up to in town. They made it to the candy shop before anyone else and had it all to themselves. Alexis went in search of her favorites, gummy snakes, and anything chocolate. She didn't know when the toad would decide they couldn't go to town anymore so she was going to stockpile enough to last till Christmas break.

She was waiting by the window as the boys, who hadn't wanted to come here first, were still shopping long after she was done. The shop had filled up and was full of the students, the happiest she had seen most of them all term. As she was laughing at Enzo squealing in a very feminine way about finally finding the candy he'd been searching for, she saw her brother, Ron, and Hermione sneaking through town.

"Guys, let's go," she knew those three well enough to know when they were up to something. Enzo grumbled that he couldn't shop longer but Theo and Mattheo were next to her pretty quickly. When they finally left the candy shop, Alexis led them in the direction she had seen the trio sneak off in and they caught up just in time to catch a glimpse of them heading into the Hogs Head.

The four exchanged a confused look before sneaking in too. Alexis peaked around the edge of the door spotting a large group of students off the the side. She crept in and went to the opposite side before sitting down where they were hidden behind a kind of partition. Enzo went up the the counter and got them each a butterbeer. They listened as the group of students started talking about how they needed a teacher to teach them how to use defensive spells and how Harry would be the best teacher.

When a couple of the group started talking about Voldemort being back she felt Mattheo stiffen beside her. She grabbed his hand lacing her fingers through his, squeezing it. The arguments went on, everything from the Dark Lord to Quidditch practice conflicts. When they finally came to an agreement all the students signed a paper saying they were going to be a part of this little defense group. When everyone except the trio had left, Alexis led her group over to her brother.
