Chapter 29
I stepped on the gas and the fancy sports car came to life again. It was so dark and the only thing that's helping me to still see my surroundings was the moonlight.
Every turn of the steering wheel, every step on the pedal and every increase on the speedometer makes every nerve of my body shiver in delightment.
I am in my little happy world right now thanks to Kairo.
I glided my hand on the expensive steering wheel one last time before I finally went out of the car. They move faster than lightning!
Naglakad na kami papasok ng headquarters. The building was larger than I expected. I think this is their main branch and not the one in Manila. Even the exterior will give you goosebumps and it does not give a nice vibes for a normal citizen like me.
It feels like the whole building was hiding a nuclear bomb inside or it is just my imagination. Nag-o-over react lang ako dahil first time ko makapasok sa ganitong lugar. The security on the entrance quickly saluted when they saw Keen and Juno walking inside with me. I was in the middle.
He pressed the buttons on the elevator until we finally reached a certain floor. I have no idea where we are right now but I am saying that is not their office at all. There were several rooms with closed doors, and a massive table in the center.
Where guns, radio, handcuffs and any other dangerous stuff was placed.
The place was full of armed men trying to fix their armored uniform and placing their guns on the right places.
I scanned him from head to toe. He does not look like he was shot at all.
His image in front of me wearing the armored uniform of Ronoua sent a foreign feeling inside. His hair was a bit longer compared to the last time I saw him. Hawked eye, he strode with his wide steps towards me. Every second he came closer my heart was beating harder and harder.
"Callista? Why are you here? What are you doing here?" his voice was strained from getting heated up. He is more scared that I showed up here rather than shocked that I could possibly do this if I wanted to.
