recounting/summary of what happened so far:

Everyone is practicing in preparation for the PxG match, and Y/n begins feeling concerned that she hasn't unlocked the flow yet when all of her friends have already. She confides in Sae and Rin (Separately) who both criticise her for her lack of egoism. She realizes that her fragile ego is not strong or good enough for it to be a long lasting and a selfish dream to fight for. Instead she's playing because she doesn't want to go home and she wants to stay in blue lock - it's a flawed ego because it's not selfish enough and blue lock won't last fforever they say. This concern makes her think of her family again, and she grows depressed and helpless.

At this time, Kaiser's awakening is in process, beginning with him relapsing and choking himself (mimicking his father's abuse). Y/n finds him, and with both being vulnerable and stuck in the past, kaiser is ready to ruin her while she's is ready to take it all. (Neither of them is at their right mind - implied that Kaiser has PTSD). Ness interrupts this and helps them.

2 days left until PxG and Y/n can't decide what she wants anymore, making her play sloppier than usual in practice.

ALSO: Kaiser STILL purposefully calls Y/n feminine pronouns without regard of what kind of problems it will create for her, like he always has since he was first introduced. The others are kind of just used to it now, but they still call him out for it when they notice (some people forgot this and it's understandable).

I panted loudly, chest heaving with each breath as I gripped my knees with desperation and exhaustion. The bright light from the makeshift football field where we'd spend most of our time practicing made my head feel dizzy, and I shut my eyes tightly, the color of the neon green grass making my eyes hurt. My stomach churned grossly, and I felt sick.

I could only hear the pounding of my heart in my ears alongside my loud panting.

A push to my shoulder snapped me out of my phase, and I opened my eyes, staggering backwards a few steps from the force the person had used on me. I had almost lost my balance and fell on my butt had I not composed myself quicker. I raised my head to see Raichi glaring down at me, a furious look on his face.
