Peyton's POV

It's Thursday, which is the day of the live taping this week since Corey couldn't make it on Tuesday. Today we'll perform the whole show for the first time.

To be honest, I'm kinda nervous. When I kissed Rowan in Girl Meets First Date, we both agreed that we were just doing it because we had to, and that we were just being our characters- we were playing pretend. But I won't agree to that with Sabrina. For me, at least, this isn't just a Lucas and Maya kiss. It's also a Peyton and Sabrina kiss.

I really hope she feels the same way.

Sabrina's POV

I look out and see a full audience. Bradley is no where in sight, thank god. But I have 8 texts, all from him, on my phone. "Can't wait to see you, B" they each read.

I power off my phone.

The theme song plays as the announcer reads off each of our names. "Playing Lucas, Peyton Meyer!"

Peyton runs out, waving at the audience. I hear a lot of teen-girl screaming. I think I hear a faint, deep "boo!" as well. I shrug it off.

Corey's name is called, followed by Auggie and Ava.

"Playing Maya, Sabrina Carpenter!"

I run out, waving and smiling, and take my place next to Peyton. He winks at me and we share a smile.

I blow a kiss to the audience. Then a dark-haired boy stands up and "catches" it. Ugh, it's Bradley.

"That's my girl!" he yells. I hear a few shouts of "Brabrina!" I roll my eyes and turn away to clap for Rowan.

Peyton's smile disappears a little.

The episode begins and the crowd quiets. Rowan, Auggie, Ben, and Danielle are sitting at the table in the Matthews Family's house.

"Isn't this great," Ben says. "If you thought last year was fun, this will be even better. Morgan and Eric are coming!"

The crowd cheers.

"Uncle Eric?" Auggie asks.

"Yes, 'oh, oh! Cousin Auggie!'" Ben replies, imitating his fictional brother.

"And he might not look like a caveman this time!" Danielle adds.

We hear a few chuckles at this.

I speak into the voice box. "It's Maya!"

Rowan runs over and presses the button. "Come on up!"

She opens the door and I walk in. "Merry Christmas, Riles," I say.

"Merry Christmas, Maya."

I survey my surroundings. "Mistletoe," I say mischievously as we walk past the fireplace.

"Yup," Rowan answers. "You know, one of us might just get a kiss tonight. And not a cheek kiss, no, no, no. An on-the-lips kiss."

She pops her head up over one of my shoulders. "Who will your's be?" she asks.

"Uncle Josh?" she moves her head to my other shoulder. "Or maybe Lucas?"

"Yeah, it'll be Ranger Rick," I say sarcastically. "I'd never take away your crush, Riley."

"He's not my crush anymore," Rowan replies. "Because I have a feeling someone I know likes him very much but just won't admit it since she doesn't want to hurt me."

Rowan is obviously being Riley, but I feel like she's also talking to me. Me: Sabrina, not Maya.

The theme song plays in the background. Rowan shifts her eyebrows up and down at me and for some reason we both burst into giggles.

The episode goes smoothly. The crowd goes nuts for Morgan, Eric, Josh, Shawn, and Mr. and Mrs. Matthews, just as we suspected.

They'll go even more nuts for what happens next.

The talent show earns lots of laughs and applause. Soon, it's my turn to perform.

I already recorded "All I want for Christmas is you" for the Disney Channel holiday playlist or whatever, so I'm just lip-syncing this performance. It's still nerve wracking though, especially since I know what happens after my song is over.

I walk up to the fireplace (AKA makeshift stage). A bunch of people scream. I use the whisk prop from the kitchen as a microphone.

"I don't want a lot for Christmas," I mouth to the crowd. Everybody starts clapping along with the beat. I get really into the song, and almost forget I'm acting. When it's my cue to look at the other actors and I see Peyton, I mean Lucas, staring at me, my heart quickens. What? Sabrina? You aren't supposed to feel like that! I scold myself.

The song ends, and Michael suggests we take a short break.

"Hey, Brina!" Peyton calls.

I turn around. "Hi."

We stand in silence for a few minutes. "So," he says. "Are you ready?"

"Yeah," I say. "I mean, I think so. Are you?"

"I don't know, maybe?" He responds.

We've never had a conversation like this before. How did things get so awkward?

The makeup artist calls Peyton over and away from me. My phone beeps in my purse. Once, twice, three times. I guess I'd better see what it is.

It's from Bradley.

Youre doing great, B. You are really pretty. The episode isn't that great tbh but you're here so i guess thats what matters. You're so lucky you've got me supporting you

Wow, could he get any more... what's the word... Bradley-y? I'm so glad I broke up with him.

Michael gathers us all backstage. "Okay, guys, there might be some... strong, reactions to this scene."

I swear he's looking at me.

"You're just gonna have to power through. Remember, it's acting. It's what you all do best."

A/N: sorry to leave you with a cliffhanger!

Did you hear what Auggie said in GM the new teacher about his comic book? "The star girl and the blonde girl like the same boy but they stay best friends." I died screaming LAYA IS FREAKING REAL

Also, if you didn't hear, Carmen (carmabello1 ) and I made a Laya account (Emi_Carmen) Fanfics coming soon! If you wouldn't mind checking it out, that'd be great!

Wow, this is a long authors note. School starts for me on Tuesday, so I might not have as much time to update, but the next chapter will be up by next Sunday!
