Before the next episode can start, Tony speaks up. "I have an idea! Instead of letting the government get its hands on the shield, I keep it and if I get questioned about it, I can say it's a sled!" He sends a smug smile to Steve, who doesn't look very amused.
"Oh, come on, Stevie!" Bucky says. "It'll be fun!" Steve scowls.
(MUSIC PLAYING)
SOLDIER: It wasn't me!
(PANTING)
(SNIFFLES)
(SPITS)
WALKER: (SOFTLY) You told me. You didn't want me to go in. Why didn't I listen?
LEMAR: You all right, man? This suit, it comes with expectations, brother.
WALKER: (YELLS) Why?
LEMAR: Look, John, I know you want this. I get it. You consistently make the right decisions in the heat of battle. Time to go to work.
WALKER: (GRUNTS) Time to go to work.
SAM: Walker...
WALKER: You guys should see a medic, you don't look so good.
"Says you," Gabrielle mutters.
SAM: Stop, Walker.
WALKER: What? You saw what happened. You know what I had to do. I killed him because I had to! He killed Lemar!
BUCKY: He didn't kill Lemar, John.
(SIGHS)
GABRIELLE: You can't kill people for revenge, John. It never ends well.
BUCKY: Believe her. Believe me. We know.
WALKER: Well, I'm not like you. Either of you.
"I wanna be like you!" Ginny exclaims. She blushes and Molly looks at her in shock.
"No, you don't, kid," Bucky says with a sad smile.
"Yes, I do!" she exclaims. "You're badass!"
"We've done bad things," Gabrielle says quietly. "You don't want to be like us."
SAM: Listen, it was the heat of the battle. Okay? If you explain what happened, they may consider your record. We don't want anyone else to get hurt. John... You gotta give me the shield, man.
A few people cringe at how forward Sam is being.
WALKER: Oh, so that's what this is. You almost got me.
GABRIELLE: You made a mistake. It's what makes us human.
Gabrielle tries to ignore the irony of her future self's statement. She and Bucky were treated like objects—weapons—at HYDRA, and now, all of a sudden, they were people again. They could make decisions for themselves and make mistakes without being punished.
WALKER: You don't wanna do this.
BUCKY: Yeah, we do.
(GRUNTS)
(BOTH GRUNTING)
(GRUNTING)
GABRIELLE: John, stop!
(YELLS)
WALKER: Why are you making me do this? (YELLING) Why are you making me do this?
