Su Jing and this new sister of his ultimately had no emotional bond, but he let Su Guan hold his hand and walk together.

After they left the city, they arrived at the bumpy path leading to the countryside. Su Guan seemed to be in a good mood, not upset at all about her dress getting dusty.

At a fork in the road, Su Guan didn't know which way to go, so she turned to look at her older brother Su Jing, her brows slightly furrowed:

"Big brother, I don't know the way!" she said in a coquettish manner that made it hard to refuse.

A smile appeared on Su Jing's face. He took Su Guan's hand in his, enveloping her delicate hand in his palm, careful not to grip too tightly for fear of hurting her.

The sun was about to set, and they needed to hurry home to avoid the wolves that might descend from the mountains.

He led Su Guan by the hand down the left path. His hand was large and warm, and his figure was described in the book as upright and strong. Despite a life of hardship and cruelty, nothing had bent his back. As the eldest, it was only natural for him to embrace his younger siblings.

Su Guan had no relatives in the modern world. Her parents died in an accident when she was young, and she lived under her uncle's roof where her aunt disliked her. Her life was hard until she went to college and left that oppressive place. She finally felt like she could breathe, so she started working part-time while studying, enduring hardship but never tiring of it.

The thought of having a big family who cared about her, sharing the same bloodline, filled her heart with warmth and security.

Maybe they didn't like her now, but she was determined to make them see her as part of the family.

It was completely dark now, and the siblings finally returned to their village. Scattered lights in the village twinkled like stars in the night sky.

Winding through the village paths, they finally arrived at the Su family home, a modest courtyard surrounded by a bamboo fence and thatched cottages, containing only three rooms.

The Su family sat around the dining table at home. Their table was large enough to seat eight people, necessary for their large family. It seemed like the only significant piece of furniture they had was this "Eight Immortals" table.

The food on the table had grown a bit cold, and the mood didn't seem very cheerful. The village dogs started barking as Su Jing and Su Guan returned.

"Dad, Mom, we're back!" The voice of the eldest son came from the courtyard. Father Su and Mother Su came out to greet them, while the other four sons remained still.

Stepping into the door, Su Guan felt very nervous. She took a deep breath inside, then put on a sweet smile, ready to meet her new family.

Despite her efforts to hide it, the slight force in her grip was noticed by Su Jing, who gently comforted her:

"Don't worry, dad and mom are really nice!"

In an instant, the status of her eldest brother in her heart skyrocketed. He was truly gentle, just as an elder brother should be.

In the darkness, she saw two figures, one tall and one short, against the light. Their faces were unclear, but she knew these were her future parents.

"Dad, mom, I'm back!"

She sweetly called out twice. The couple was taken aback, having prepared for their new daughter's coldness, but didn't expect her to actively call them without sounding upset.

"Ah, good, Guan Guan is back, mom has prepared the meal, you must be hungry, come in and eat!"

Mother Su was the first to react, actively reaching out to take Su Guan's hand, which was calloused and rough.

It all seemed very formal, devoid of real emotion.

Madam Gu felt sorry for her biological daughter, who had been swapped into a poor family and hadn't lived well, eager to make up for it. Though harboring doubts, she didn't believe they mistreated their daughter. However, facing such a delicate and pretty girl, the Su parents felt somewhat inferior.

Su Jing released Su Guan's hand. So far, he had a good impression of this new sister. She hadn't complained on the way back, obediently following his pace. He offered to carry her, but she refused.

As Su Guan entered the door, followed by father Su and Su Jing, her appearance was revealed under the light. She had a face somewhat similar to theirs, very pretty, with a pair of dimples when she smiled.

At first glance, there were four young men sitting at the table, likely Su Guan's other four brothers, assessing each other.

She tried to identify them based on the book's description.

She had already met the eldest brother, Su Jing. The book described the second brother, Su Mu, as the coldest among the five, with outstanding looks and a chilly demeanor, appearing unapproachable and mostly expressionless. He was a year and a half younger than the eldest brother, nineteen this year.

Su Guan almost instantly recognized him, the first on the left being the second brother, Su Mu.

She carefully called out to him as "Second Brother," looking innocent and harmless. Su Mu was surprised she recognized him but didn't say much, just calmly responded with a "Hmm."

His expression was indifferent and cold, barely giving her a second glance.

Just his presence seemed to lower the atmosphere's pressure.

Then there's the third brother, Su Chen, who is seventeen years old. He has been learning skills from a hunter in the village. However, nobody knows that this hunter is actually a significant figure. He possesses unique skills and retreated to a rural life due to emotional wounds. Su Chen, who showed talent at the age of eight, was chosen by him. He is a promising martial arts student and has been secretly taught kung fu by him, keeping their relationship hidden. Therefore, Su Chen has always kept it a secret.

Because of his martial arts training, his body is the healthiest. He is tall and strong, inheriting the good genes of the Su family, with sharp eyebrows and bright eyes, exuding a heroic spirit. He is also easy to recognize, as he will become a famous general known for generations.

“Hello, Third Brother!”

Su Chen is indeed excellent at martial arts, but he is a bit simple-minded, or rather naive and straightforward.

He looked a bit bewildered at his new sister, his face turning red, and awkwardly replied:

“You, hello too!”

The new sister is really pretty, dressed in a beautiful dress, standing there looking lively and attracting attention.

Lastly, there are the fourth and fifth brothers, who are twins. They look almost identical in appearance and build, and even their voices are similar. People not familiar with them really can't tell them apart, sometimes even their mother gets confused without a careful look.

However, their personalities are quite different. The fourth brother, Su Yun, is somewhat hot-tempered and quite straightforward. Both he and the fifth brother have a sunny appearance. He is like a firecracker that ignites at the slightest touch. At this moment, he is glaring at Su Guan with an unfriendly expression.

“Fourth Brother!” Su Guan, seeing his fierce look, spoke cautiously.

But Su Yun didn't pay any attention to her, his expression filled with anger and conflict. He is only fifteen years old, young and impulsive, and the closest in age to Gu Yue, usually having the best relationship with her.

Suddenly, his most beloved sister has become someone else's, and he can't accept it, nor can he suddenly become enthusiastic towards a strange girl.
