Every girl from the beginnings of her life dreams of becoming somethings, she dreams of flying in the wonderland of fantasies but the society cuts off her wings with the utmost cruelty. My poem shares the woes and hopes of such a woman who dreams of empowering herself and fight the world

She lies there distraught in her allusive cage
Where her role is assumed to be a meager paige
Her wrist handcuffed with bangles speak
Of atrocious treatment and muffled shriek
Unchained, she finally wants to escape
Untamed, she wants her bangles scraped

Her gait restricted, her demeanor changed
But her strong willed mind could not be deranged
She dreams of freeing from the shackles imposed
Where her thoughts and voice could not be enclosed
Unchained, she wants to roam the world
Untamed she wants her dreams unfurled

All the anguish that she has faced till date
Due to condescending remarks from her mate
She wishes to reject them and move
She is resilient, she wishes to proove
Unchained she wants to savour her freedom
Untamed she wants to aim and reason

A woman she is, she craves to show
That outside the cage she can fight and grow
That she can compete and surpass the men
That her existence on earth is not in vain
Unchained she knows she can reach heights
Untamed she knows she can face her fights
