The Wink

Standing in the back row of the class photograph
The smile i posed was like a worthless chaff
But the next moment your head turned back
And your wink at me gave a mild heart attack

In the next few moments the world did change
My facial feautures decided to rearrange
Not for the camera that captures the moment
But to ensure your eyes had no worthy opponent

I ran my hand through my hair for you
(Even though we weren't supposed to)
The teacher's stare could not break apart
The pandemonium you caused in my heart

My smile was fresh but my eyes distracted
From the camera to your hair they were subtly attracted
Hoping that you would cast one more glance
Just the thought of it made my shadows dance
