The Woman in White

I see her on these roads at night
Treading her way under the million stars
I can see no shadows falling behind
I can see the moonlight healing her scars

When the evening sky covers the road
All men all cars disappear from sight
Locking themselves in the safety of their homes
For the people dread the woman in white

Who had thought that the lovely lass
Once adored for her youthful glow
Would be a vengeful spirit of the dark
Roaming the streets in search of her foe

When she was screaming loud and clear
Ruthlessly she was stabbed to death
Slowly her voice faded to silence
And that there was the last of her breath

And now silence spreads accross the street
Except the timely rings her anklets made
I stare out the window at that time
I see her ghastly face out in the shade

There is a look of malice in her eyes
Searching for someone to prey upon
This curse that has befallen on this block
Will probably end when her revenge is done
