Ch-59
Jin and Blake, drenched in sweat and fueled by intensity, continued to engage fiercely in battle. Their expressions mirrored the raw anger and determination that coursed through their veins. The fight was a display of both physical prowess and emotional turmoil. "I don't think you are one bit worried that your companion died" Jin said to Blake who showed no sign of backing down, calmly responded to Jin's remark, "Oh, you think I'm not worried about Dracie's death? You're more ignorant than I thought." Her voice dripped with sarcasm.
"Yes, that's what I think because last time you were lost in your thoughts but not now. Seems like Dracie wasn't important to you. Was it her sister?" Jin taunted and Blake's composure faltered momentarily as Jin brought up Sophie. Frustration flared within him, and he snapped back angrily, "Don't you dare bring up Sophie!" In that instant, it became evident that the rumors circulating were correct, and Dracie's sister, Sophie, had feelings for him. Addressing the truth, Jin challenged, "So the tales hold true, don't they? She was indeed in love with you, wasn't she?"
"And yet here you are, is it the revenge or you were just heartless to even respond to her love?" Jin asked with sarcasm. Frustration etched across Blake's face as Jin continued to poke at his emotions. Clenching his jaw, he struggled to maintain composure and focus on the battle. His voice trembling with a mixture of anger and heartache, he muttered, "You know nothing about my feelings. You think I never cared for her? This isn't about revenge or being heartless."
"You don't seem to be caring. I don't think demons are caring. Because if you loved her, you should have known it will bring her to death" Jin said, Blake's guilt intensified as Jin's words cut deep, striking at his conscience. With a mix of pain and anger, he gritted out, "You think I don't know that loving her would lead to her downfall? I knew... I knew the consequences, and I tried... I tried to push her away to protect her!"
Jin chuckled, "did you actually loved her, or your ego is just hurt?" Frustration and anger surged within Blake as Jin's words struck a nerve. His jaw clenched, and he retorted defiantly, "You think it was just my ego? You think I didn't care for her?" His voice filled with a raw mix of vulnerability and defiance, he added, "I loved her... I truly loved her, more than you could ever understand."
Blake found himself taken aback by the sudden appearance of sunlight, caught unprepared by Jin's swift attack. As he fell to the ground, he made no attempt to shield himself from the sunlight or to heal his wound. A sense of resignation seemed to wash over him, his body lying motionless on the ground, exposed to the relentless rays.
Blake's mind struggled to recall the suppressed memory, it finally came into focus, revealing the truth. It was Sophie who he had loved. The realization hit him like a wave, flooding his senses with a mix of grief and bittersweet emotions. The guilt weighed heavily on Blake's heart, as the realization of his past actions dawned upon him.
He had failed to accept Sophie's love and never responded. Now, facing the consequences of his choices, he whispered with remorse, "I'm sorry...Sophie..." The weight of his regrets hung heavily in the air, leaving him grappling with the consequences of his own actions.
Sophie, a princess at Euphoria kingdom, was walking in the forest. She was upset about something, her mind filled with thoughts, and she couldn't help but feel a bit angry. It was evening, she didn't return to the palace. She was sitting beside a tree when a man came to her, he had a stern expression and had blue hair. She found him attractive before making a stern expression herself. "Did king sent you here?" she asked coldly and he just laughed. "King? So you're a princess, huh?" He sat down beside her, "what a princess like you, sitting in the deep of a forest like this?" She stood up, "none of your business"
She started walking away. He just smirked, "why so? You are wandering around my property, why shouldn't I care?" Sophie turned around and raised her eyebrows, "your...property?" He stood up, "yes I rule this forest" she chuckled, "rule? Are you from Nature kingdom?" He raised his eyebrows, "Look don't you dare compare me from those insects" she was amused the way he addressed the kings. "I don't think you know that talking about royals like this will eliminate you just in a second" He chuckled darkly and came closer, "who will eliminate me?" She made a stern expression, "the king"
"The king? Do you think he has the ability to eliminate me?" She looked at him with questionable eyes. "Who are you?" He smirked, coming even more closer, "a demon" he whispered in her ear. She wasn't able to believe before he extended his hands, showing her his demonic powers. Her jaw dropped, "so a demon actually exists?" she muttered, he found her interesting, his finger taking her hair in his hand. She turned to him, "can you kill a king as well?" He raised his eyebrows before smirking and nodding. She smirked widely, "Sophie, the niece of the king of Euphoria kingdom" He looked down at her extended hand before introducing himself, "Blake"
A month later, Blake found himself getting annoyed by Sophie, "hey what about this?" He glared at her, "you know what? Drop your cute acts because it's not working on me" he looked away and she giggled, "You admitted they are cute" He groaned and walked away. She held his hand, "why do you hate me so much?" She pouted and he shook his head. "I don't hate you, but I will if you stop acting as if we are a couple" She widened her eyes, "I don't do that" He raised his eyebrows, "but you act like you have fallen in love with me" he smirked and she glared at him, "my heart only beats for the younger brother of Rosefall's king, and no one!" She looked away. He chuckled at her annoyed expression.
Two months later, a month before the battle, Sophie entered the cave. She kept walking but couldn't find him anywhere. The moment she turned around to leave, he appeared. She lost her balance, but he caught her. She was too lost in him, but he had no expression. He just made her stand. "What are you doing here?" He coldly asked and this pinched her heart, though she didn't say anything. He got annoyed by her silence, "Will you say some-" he was cut off when she kissed him. He was still in shock, but he pushed her away. She looked at him, "why had you do that? HAVE YOU GONE CRAZY?" he yelled in anger, she yelled back, "yes!! I have gone crazy! Crazy in love with you" He froze.
She wiped her tears and started leaving but he held her shoulders, pinning her against the wall, kissing her passionately. She reciprocated; he wiped her tears while his lips moving against hers. His hand moved on her gown sleeves which he removed slowly. She was breathing heavily, looking at him. "I hated to admit this, but you are making it hard for me" he murmured before kissing her again and picking her in his arms, taking her on the ground as they created love.
The battle day, Blake was fighting confidently until he felt his heartbeat stop for a flicker of moment. "Sophie..." he whispered, running to where she must be just to notice her on the ground, lifeless. He rushed to her, cradling her on his lap, trying to wake her up. That was the first and the last time he cried in his entire life. Her death had a deep impact in his life.
Blake remembered her face and smiled to himself, murmuring, "I loved her.. but couldn't protect her" he slowly closed his eyes as his body burned into ashes, feeling guilty, realizing he had been in guilt for all these years. If he had stopped her that time, maybe just maybe she would have been alive.
