Ch-52
Kings of all the kingdoms sat together to have a meal, with their queens of course but their sons and daughters aren't there. "I don't know if it's our last meal, but let's toast" Wong said while chuckling. Austin nodded and they cheered their wine glasses. The mood in the room shifted from cheerful to tense as Amelia rushed up to Austin and knocked away his glass. The room was filled with surprise and confusion at her sudden outburst.
Austin was visibly upset, his face reddening with anger as he stood up. "Amelia, what is the meaning of this?" he demanded. But Amelia's expression was filled with fear and urgency. "It's poison in your drinks!" she exclaimed, her voice quivering.
Jin's sharp eyes spotted something unusual as he looked at his father, Wong's glass. He leaned in closer, peering at the contents of the glass, and noticed something strange. "The color is different," he said, his voice grave with concern.
Luna's whisper was filled with worry, and Jimin's words caused a shiver to run down everyone's spine. "Someone tried to kill you in the castle," Luna repeated, her voice shaking slightly. "It's the same as that time," Jimin added, his expression turning grim as he recalled the previous incident. "Someone mixed our drinks as well."
Namjoon's voice cut through the murmur of confusion and fear, bringing everyone's attention back to the gravity of the situation. "What if, like with Hwan-Gyu, there are more spies in other castles as well?" he said, his words filling the room with a heavy silence.
The revelation that their enemy could be hiding among them sent chills down everyone's spine. They exchanged uneasy glances, aware that their safety was at risk. The once lively atmosphere had transformed into one of tension and caution.
King Ed's voice rang out in the room, filled with determination. "We can't afford to sit idly anymore," he exclaimed. "We have to fight now," he said with fierce conviction. The others nodded in agreement, the fire of determination burning in their eyes.
Everyone's attention turned towards Jin as he spoke up, his voice calm and authoritative. "No," he said firmly, his expression resolute. "We should focus on finding out who did this first." The others looked at him in surprise, but then they nodded in agreement, silently acknowledging the wisdom in his words.
Amelia noticed Jin walking away and decided to follow him discreetly, her footsteps nearly silent against the floor. She remained behind him, maintaining a distance to avoid being noticed.
"Stop following me!" he repeated, turning around to find her standing there. His eyes were filled with a mix of annoyance and something else she couldn't quite identify.
Jin's sudden outburst startled Amelia, and she flinched at the unexpected sharpness of his tone. He had never raised his voice at her before, and his words hung in the air.
"What's wrong with you? You were completely fine a few hours ago" Amelia asked in concern. Jin's expression softened momentarily at her question, but he quickly regained his stern composure. He took a deep breath, trying to control the tumultuous emotions swirling inside him.
"I'm just stressed," he said, his voice a bit more subdued. "With everything that's happening, it's taking a toll on me."
"It's not like you. You would never go against a king's orders" Her eyes went down at his hand, she strangely looked at him. Amelia's eyes widened in horror as she finally understood what was wrong. The sinister smile on Jin's face, the change in his eyes, it was clear that this was not Jin.
"Who are you?" she demanded, her voice quivering in fear. The air around her suddenly felt colder, and a chill ran down her spine.
Jin - or whoever was pretending to be him - turned to face Amelia, his voice deeper and more sinister. "You really shouldn't have followed me," he said, his words a low growl. "Curiosity might get you in trouble, you know."
