Ch-49

A guard entered the hall of Euphoria kingdom. "Attack! Attack!" he exclaimed, and Austin stood from his throne, approaching him. "Calm down and tell what happened" he spoke in a surprising calm tone. "Many houses caught in fire while many people got sick of some unknown disease" everyone in the hall went silent and tensed about the unexpected attack. Faces paled and brows furrowed as the gravity of the situation sank in. "An attack," Austin repeated, his voice laced with barely concealed anger. "And a disease," he added grimly. "Did someone cause this?"

They all heard some chaos outside. Austin and the other royalty stepped onto the terrace, they were met with a chaotic scene unfolding below them. The people were shouting and demanding answers, their anger and desperation palpable in the air. "You're useless!" shouted one enraged citizen. "Why are we the only ones suffering?" cried another. "Help us, Your Highnesses!" yelled a distraught mother.

Austin tried calming them down. The people continued to let loose their frustrations, one furious individual hurled a bow towards the Royal family. Fortunately, Luna quickly dodged the attack. Amelia, seething with anger, stepped forward and confronted the crowd. Her voice rang out, firm and authoritative. "How dare you attempt to harm our King?" she boomed, silencing the crowd for a moment.

"That's because he is just a useless coward" the one who threw the bow shouted and then they all started shouting. "Amelia, calm down" Austin held his daughter back. "Please you all go back. I don't want the enemy to find out you are here" Austin requested everyone in the terrace in a calm tone.

Jimin's sharp eye caught sight of someone aiming a bow at Austin. Without a moment's hesitation, Jimin stepped in and swiftly prevented the potential attack. "I think it would be wise for you to retreat too, Your Highness," Jimin advised, his voice steady despite the tense situation. "They are angry and not thinking straight right now" Jimin calmly asked Austin.

"Yes father, we could talk inside, think of any-" Amelia was cut off by Jin, "no, I think it's here" their faces tensed up as they understood what he meant. "So what do we do now?" Amelia asked in a worried tone. The tense silence was punctured by Jin's pointed observation. "He's right," Austin affirmed, his eyes trained on some distant point. His resolute declaration echoed through the terrace. "Prepare for war," he commanded. "We cannot afford to be caught off guard."

The realization that the enemy could be lurking among the chaotic crowd sank in, adding to the already tense atmosphere. Austin looked out at the sea of people; his expression grim. "And in the midst of all this chaos and crowd, we don't know if the enemy is here as well"

"We need to prepare. Even if we all have some skills and natural powers, we shouldn't let our guards off" Wong said in a serious tone. Wong's words held a weight of certainty. "He's right," Luna agreed, her voice ringing with authority. "No matter how skilled we are, we must never let our guard down."

"How exactly are we going to examine our powers?" Jimin asked Jin. Jin, who appeared to have already given this some thought, responded without missing a beat. "Well," he began, his voice calm and composed. "We each know what our powers are, don't we? The point of this exercise is to better understand them, to push them to their limits, and perhaps even discover new aspects we haven't yet explored."

"Why am I here then? I am powerless unlike you guys" Taehyung whispered, which obviously was heard them. Jin and Jimin both turned their gazes to Taehyung as he voiced his insecurity about his perceived lack of powers. Jin's expression softened slightly as he spoke. "Come now, Taehyung," he said gently. "You don't really believe that, do you?"

"And besides, if you keep thinking you are powerless, it will only make you weaker" Yoongi said. Taehyung's eyes widened as Yoongi echoed Aurora's words. He had been thinking about those words a lot lately, and he knew deep down that Yoongi was right. But it was easier said than done to ignore the feeling of inadequacy that gnawed at him.

"Yes, Yoongi hyung is right. Instead of thinking that you are powerless, why don't you check your surroundings to understand your powers?" Hoseok suggested, his voice soft. "Right! If you see it for yourself, you might be able to discover your talent" Namjoon said.

Taehyung was taken aback somewhat by the support and understanding from the other princes. They didn't dismiss his concerns or laugh at his lack of confidence. Instead, they encouraged him to look within himself and explore his surroundings. Maybe there was a power after all, hidden within him. With a slight nod, Taehyung turned his gaze back to his surroundings, truly looking this time.

"Tae, no one here is ordinary. If we six has powers, you also must have it. Don't ever think you are different. And we never will think you are different" Jin softly said. Taehyung's eyes widened again as he listened intently to Jin's words. It was one thing to hear similar words from Yoongi and Hoseok, but something about hearing it from his older brother was even more impactful. He felt a spark of determination within himself, something igniting within his heart. They were right, he thought to himself. They all had powers, so why should I be any different?

"Yah Jimin, stop flying like a bird" Jin scolded him, Taehyung chuckled, then he felt a hand on his shoulder. He saw its Hoseok. "You remember the first day when we found about our powers? I was washing the dishes since it was my turn in the kitchen and suddenly a lot of fireballs came out of my hand" he spoke with a hint of amusement.

A smile tugged at the corners of Taehyung's lips as Hoseok shared his story. Hearing about how his brother discovered his powers while doing something as simple as washing dishes made him realize that sometimes, the most remarkable abilities can arise in the most ordinary of circumstances. He couldn't help but chuckle at the imagery of countless fireballs shooting out while doing the dishes. It was ridiculous and yet so very Hoseok.

"At first I was so shocked, that I was about to cry. I was barely 10. I got so scared of fire since I wasn't used to it. And now see, I am a fire prince who isn't scared of fire anymore" Taehyung nodded, a mix of sympathy and understanding reflecting in his eyes. It was easy to imagine the chaos that Hoseok must have felt when he first discovered his powers. Being ten years old and suddenly having fireballs shoot out of your hands would've been terrifying, he thought.

But now, Hoseok had grown into the fire prince, fearless and in control of his abilities. Taehyung felt a flicker of hope at the thought that if Hoseok could overcome his fear, perhaps he too could discover and embrace his own powers.

"That was when we discovered we were actually prince. Princes of the kingdom we lived in as ordinary citizens. We know why our father decided to make us as far from the kingdom as possible. Of course, it was for our safety. But it made us learn something we hadn't known about ourselves. It took us time to reflect within ourselves and ability to control these powers. It wasn't easy. It took us 10 years to finally be confident about them. So, it's not like it took 10 years for us but it is taking longer for you. Calm yourself and think about your fear. Remember, whatever ability we all have, came out of our fears. Think about it, you might as well discover something new." Hoseok said.

Taehyung listened intently as Hoseok spoke, his mind churning with thoughts. He hadn't fully considered the connection between their powers and their fears. He had been so focused on feeling left out and without powers, that he hadn't stopped to think about why the others had developed their powers in the first place. Fear, he realized. Their powers came from their fears. This revelation brought a new wave of determination to Taehyung. Could his own fear be the key to discovering his talent?
