The day passed quickly, from an intense morning to a lively afternoon.

During lunch, we learned about Sprinkles' plan, with Abhilekh and Naman involved too. I’ll admit, at first, there was a moment of frustration, wondering why I was left out.

But I quickly reminded myself—she’s fully capable of standing her ground, of making decisions on her own.

I respect her independence and admire her strength. But does that mean I’ll step back from caring for her? Never. She’s free to make her own choices, walk her own path, but with every decision she makes, she’ll always find me right there, her shield.

Not to limit her, but to ensure nothing ever stands in her way.

Classes were over, and Sprinkles and I were walking slowly through the campus. As we moved along, I realized it was important to let her know about my plan.

"Sprinkles! How about I walk you home today?” I suggested with a hopeful smile. She paused, her eyes twinkling with curiosity. “Why? Is there something special today?” she asked playfully.

I felt a bit nervous as I scratched the back of my neck, trying to find the right words. Clearing my throat, I finally spoke. “N-no, I just thought it would be nice to drop you off today… and maybe pick you up tomorrow… and every day after that,” I whispered.

She paused, genuine curiosity shining in her eyes. “What’s the matter, Dev? Is there something serious?”

I shook my head. “Nah, nothing serious. Just thought it might be nice,” I said, trying to continue our walk. But she held my hand, stopping me, a serious expression on her face.

“Dev, your face tells me you’re hiding something. If it’s nothing serious, why are you trying to become my part-time driver?” she chuckled at the end.

I cleared my throat and said, “Sprinkles, the truth is, I can’t bear the thought of compromising your safety. So, I’ve decided to take it upon myself to pick you up for college and drop you off at home or I want to take the job of your part time driver if that’s what you want to say"I said, my face ,earnest and sincere.

Dev, what are you even saying? Are you serious?” she exclaimed, her voice filled with utter surprise. “I understand your concern, but having you drop me off and pick me up is strange. It’s absurd, to be honest. How did you even think I would agree to such a proposal?” she said, clear irritation in her tone.

“Listen, Aadrika, I know this might seem absurd to you, but there’s no other way. Can you even begin to fathom what I felt every moment until I was able to rescue you that night? No, you can’t,” I replied, my voice laden with emotion.
