The results of our latest semester were finally out, and thank God, they were satisfactory as we all had hoped for. To celebrate, our friends had planned an outing tonight.

Much to their dismay, I had already promised a movie night with Devyaan. But convincing them to let me skip wasn't too hard as I promised to bake their favorite brownies and pastries as a peace offering.

"God, are you putting on eyeliner or painting an entire eye makeup masterpiece on me?" I asked Sitara, my patience wearing thin with the amount of time she was taking just to draw a simple line.

"Shut your mouth, or the eyeliner will smudge again, and I can't afford to fix it this time," she shot back.

After what felt like an eternity, she finally stepped back and exclaimed, "See? Just perfect!"

I turned to check myself in the mirror. The eyeliner was sharp and precise, definitely worth the wait.

"Bas? Itni simple si design ke liye itna time?" I teased.

("That's it? You took so much of my time just to make such a simple design?")

She whined, "Arre, haath kaapte hain mere, doosron ke liye karte waqt... pata nahi kyun apne liye hota nahi!"

("Hey, My hands shiver while putting an eyeliner on someone else... I don't know why it doesn't happen while putting it for myself!")

I flicked her forehead in response and adjusted my dress,a teal bodycon one paired with a cropped leather jacket that added just the right touch of casual edge. Glancing at the time, my eyes widened in horror.

"Oh God! I'm 25 minutes late! Just because of you," I glared at her while she flashed a cheeky smile.

"The extra time will be worth it for your entire date. Trust me! Anyway, take care and call me if anything urgent comes up, okay?" she said, hugging me goodbye.

I hurried toward the gate and spotted Devyaan leaning against his sleek Audi A4, his posture casual yet attractive.

As I walked closer, his lips curved, "So, madam finally decided to grace me with her presence," he remarked, opening the car door for me with a playful bow.

Sliding into the car, I barely had time to get comfortable before he took my hand in his, lifting it gently to place a kiss on the back of my palm."Gorgeous as always," he murmured, his voice low and warm. The intensity of his gaze made my cheeks flush, and I found myself looking away, a shy smile tugging at my lips.

He jogged around to the driver’s side and slid into his seat. The engine purred to life, and we began to weave through the night streets.

"So," I began, turning to face him, "what movie are we watching tonight? Everyone asked me, and I looked so clueless saying I had no idea. They probably think I’m lying now!"
