Before I could react, she stepped inside and closed the door behind her, leaving me momentarily stunned.

It took me a few seconds to snap out of my shock. She stood there, a mischievous smile lighting up her face, her expression practically screaming that her plan had worked perfectly.

"Dev!" she said at the same time I blurted, "Sprinkles!"

I raised my hand, gesturing for her to let me speak first. "Wait a second. Sprinkles, what are you doing here? And how? How on earth did you get past security dressed as a delivery person?" I paused, shaking my head in disbelief. "Actually, never mind that-why are you here at this hour? What's going on-"

Before I could finish, she stepped forward and wrapped me in a tight hug, her arms pulling me close.

The warmth of her embrace immediately dissolved the storm of questions in my mind, calming the chaos I'd been wrestling with for hours. I closed my eyes briefly, letting myself get lost in the moment.

She pulled back just enough to meet my gaze, her mischievous smile fading into something more sincere, her eyes reflecting warmth and silent reassurance. "I'm sorry," she whispered softly.

We both stepped apart, and I guided her to sit on the edge of my bed, my hands still holding hers firmly.

"Dev, I... I know how much you care about me, how deeply concerned you are. But despite that, I misread your intentions," she began, her voice trembling slightly. "And I'm really sorry for that. Believe me, I feel the same way you do, but-"

Before she could continue rambling, I pulled her into a hug, silencing her the same way she had quieted me earlier. Her body relaxed in my arms, and I felt the tension in her shoulders ease as I planted a soft kiss on her hair.

Pulling back, I looked into her eyes and said gently, "Let's not complicate things by saying too much. You and I understand each other, and that's all that matters. Okay?"

She nodded with a soft smile, the guilt in her expression finally giving way to relief.

"And now," I began, raising an eyebrow playfully, "since you managed to sneak into my house undetected, I'm more curious about your master plan. Because honestly, if this disguise works so well, what's stopping someone from kidnapping me while pretending to deliver pizza?"

She laughed, her earlier tension melting away entirely. "Well, let me reassure you, Dev. If anyone kidnaps you dressed as a delivery person, their only goal will be to drop you straight into my hands. That's it."

I chuckled, shaking my head at her quick wit. "Good to know I have the world's most efficient kidnapper looking out for me."

"Yup! And the kidnapper even brought a bribe to keep the victim from causing any commotion," she teased, pulling out a packet of pastry that I hadn't even noticed she was carrying.
