I'm awfully excited for today that I nearly scared James when I woke up before the alarming bell. Bucky said that we are going to run away from Hydra and try to build a life for the two of us, together! After what had happened, I have never been more sure or excited to get out of this hellhole.
I shook James awake and he slowly sat himself up, pushing himself off the bed and propping himself up with his metal arm. His hair was all messy and knotted up, half covering his eyes, but a small smile gracing his lips told me that he was just as excited as I was.
"Remember the plan, my маленький паук?" he whispered, and I grinned as I nodded, jumping in excitement and throwing myself in for a hug.
This was the day. I was sure of it.
As we set ourselves up for our plan, taking our little belongings that we were provided that we sharpened to make a little shank, I thought about what life would be like. I will try all the new foods. I will see the rain. And I will live with James happily without any more punishment or training.
The alarm bell rang in a few minutes. Quickly huffing out a terrified, shaky breath, I hid the shank in my hand as I took my place by placing my hands against the walls.
Soon enough, guards walked in, an angry sneer on their face as they took joy torturing young prisoners. As one of them came towards me, ready to grab my hand and lock it into the cuffs, I quickly sprung into action, James doing the same thing on the other side of the cell.
I quickly overpowered the fragile normal man, stabbed him with the shank, and cuffed him into his own vibranium cuffs, locking his hands behind his back. I grabbed his gun and a set of weapons around his waist.
I just finished grabbing all the things when I saw James also ready to go. A sense of excitement buzzing in my heart, the two of us quickly ran forward and burst out of our cell and towards our freedom. James threw the first bomb, clearing out a pathway in the hallway as we both ran. We had no idea where we were going, but hoped that if we bombed enough hallways, we would find the location we needed to find eventually.
The other guards were quickly altered though, because of the disruption, and guards started swarming around us. I webbed them up and locked them against the wall the best I could, and James shot the rest with his impeccable aim.
We both continued running, excited as I started to smell a sense of freshness with my enhanced senses and I knew that an entrance to the outside was near.
That's when we were both thrown over to our side.
A huge bomb had blasted next to us, breaking the wall and throwing us off our feet. My ears started to ring and I could feel the world around me start to muffle. Completely disoriented, all I could notice was my hazy vision and the trace line of blood flowing down the side of my head.
I don't even know if I passed out or not, but once my vision cleared up enough for me to see, I saw tons of rubble piled up over my feet, locking me in. I could, theoretically, lift it up off me, but I was too out of it right now to even be able to do so.
James.
I scanned around, looking frantically to find where my dad was. Was he under and covered by the rubble as well?
I couldn't see him anywhere and I strained to hear any signs of life from him, such as a heart beat or a faint breath.
But I heard none.
Soon enough, guards swarmed around me and I was surrounded by Hydra men dressed in black, a heavy gun pointed towards my face.
And no James in sight.
I didn't want to believe it, but I knew the truth.
I didn't get to leave Hydra today.
But James did.
And this time, I'm alone.
