Chelsea Exposed

(Poppy and Branch return to the palace balcony)

Branch: Good night, my beautiful princess.

Poppy: Sleep well, Branch.

(They slowly lean forward to kiss, but Dumbo bumps her up and they kiss sooner than expected. He walks away slowly then turns and looks at her. Finally he enters his room through the curtain)

Poppy: Yes! (Falls back onto Dumbo, who descends to the ground) For the first time in my life, things are starting to go right.

(She looks up at Branch's balcony, and four sets of hands grab her)

Poppy: Hey! What? (A gag is tied around her mouth. Muffled words) Perky! Perky! (We see the suicune hanging from a net tied in a tree)

GUARD: Hold her!

(Shackles are placed on her feet and her hands. Another GUARD holds Dumbo)

Chelsea: I'm afraid you've worn out your welcome, Princess Kenobi. (Walks away.) Make sure she's never found.

(A guard hits her in the head, and she falls unconscious. She is dropped off a cliff, where guards laugh as Poppy's body drops into the water. She is conscious now, but ers feet are tied to a rock. The rock hits the sea bottom, then the turban lands and the lamp tumbles out. She sees this and struggles to rub the lamp. However, she loses consciousness and falls to the floor. The lamp, unsettled by her movement, rolls down and rubs against her hands. It shakes, and Sisu emerges with a bath brush, rubber duckie, and shower cap)

Sisu: Never fails. Get in the bath and there's a rub at the lamp. (Squeaks the duck) Hello? (Sees unconscious Poppy) Poppy? Poppy! Kid, snap out of it! You can't cheat on this one! I can't help you unless you make a wish. You have to say "Sisu I want you to save my life." Got it? Okay. C'mon Poppy! (Grabs Poppy by the shoulders and shakes her. Her head goes up, then falls) I'll take that as a yes. (Head turns into a siren) Wooga! Wooga! (Turns into a submarine) Up scope! (Babbles in faux German. On the surface, a giant water spout emerges, and lands on top of the cliff. Poppy reawakens and coughs the water out of his lungs) Don't you scare me like that!

Poppy: Sisu, I--uh, I-uh...(Couldn't think of how to say it, so they just hug each other) Thanks, Sisu.

Sisu: Oh, girl. I'm gettin' kind of fond of you, kid. Not that I wanna pick out curtains or anything.

(Branch is in his room, humming "A Whole New World" and brushing his hair) 

(Rosiepuff appears in one of the double doors, hypnotized)

Rosiepuff: Angel!

Branch: Oh, grandma--I just had the most wonderful time. I'm so happy.

Rosiepuff: (Still monotone from the hypnosis) You should be, Branch. I have chosen a wife for you.

Branch: What?

Rosiepuff: (The other door opens and reveals Chelsea) You will wed Chelsea.

(Branch gasps at the sight of her)

Chelsea: You're speechless, I see. A fine quality in a husband.

Branch: I will never marry you. (Goes to Rosiepuff) Grandma, I choose Princess Annie!

Chelsea: Princess Annie left!

(Poppy stands by the doorway to the balcony)

Poppy: Better check your crystal ball again, Chelsea!

Branch: Princess Anine!

(Chelsea gasps at the sight of Poppy)

Meowth: How in the he---uh, meow!

Poppy: Tell 'em the truth, Chelsea. You tried to have me killed!

Chelsea: What? (Goes to Rosiepuff) Ridiculous nonsense, Your Highness. She is obviously lying. (Brings the staff close to Rosiepuff's face.)

Rosiepuff: Obviously...lying.

(Poppy sees the staff with its glowing eyes)

Branch: Grandma, what's wrong with you?

Poppy: I know what's wrong!

(Poppy grabs the staff and smashes it on the floor. Chelsea flinches and the spell is broken for good)

Rosiepuff: Oh, oh, oh my!

Poppy: Your Highness, Chelsea's been controlling you with this! (Advances the staff)

Rosiepuff: What? Chelsea?! You, you traitor!

(The trio advances on Chelsea)

Chelsea: Your majesty, all of this can be explained.

Rosiepuff: Guards! Guards!

Meowth: Well, that's it--we're dead, forget about it. Just dig a grave for both of us. We're dead.

(But Chelsea sees the lamp in Poppy's pocket. She makes a move, but is grabbed by guards)

Rosiepuff: Arrest Chelsea at once.

Chelsea: This is not done yet, fool!

(Chelsea pulls a vial from her pocket. Poppy sees this and rushes her, but Chelsea throws the vial to the floor. A large red cloud appears. When it is gone, so is Chelsea)

Rosiepuff: Find her! Search everywhere!

Poppy: Branch, are you all right?

Branch: Yes.

(They lean in to kiss, but Rosiepuff barges between them)

Rosiepuff: Chelsea, my most trusted counselor, plotting against me all this time. Just horrible. How will I ever- (Stops in mid sentence and looks at the pair) Can this be true? My grandson has finally chosen a suitress? (He nods) Ha ha! Praise Allah! You brilliant girl, I could kiss you! I won't--I'll leave that to my--. You two will be wed at once! Yes, yes. And you'll be happy and prosperous, and then my girl, you will be queen!

Poppy: Queen?

Rosiepuff: Yes, a fine upstanding youth like yourself, a person of your unimpeachable moral character is exactly what this kingdom needs! (Poppy looks concerned at this)

(Chelsea's chambers) 

(Chelsea and Meowth enter)

Meowth: We gotta get outta here! We gotta get-- I gotta start packing, your highness. Only essentials (Starts throwing things out of his cage. Chelsea smiles broadly) Travel light! Bring the guns, the weapons, the knives (Stops and takes out a picture of himself and Chelsea) and uh, how about this picture? I don't know--I think I'm making a weird face in it. (Chelsea starts to laugh wildly) Oh, boy. She's cracked. She's gone nuts. (Meowth climbs down to her and knocks on her head) Chelsea? Chelsea, get a grip! (Chelsea grabs him around the neck) Awk! Good grip.

Chelsea: Princess Annie is nothing more than that ragged urchin, Poppy! She has the lamp, Meowth.

Meowth: Why that miserable--

Chelsea: But you are going to relieve her of it!

Meowth: Me?
